I’ve had a number of deliveries lately that have contained some brand new releases from some of my go-to brands. I’ve spoken many a time about the Joan Collins Timeless Beauty range, with its extensive cosmetic and skincare products, and how each and every item that I’ve tried has been quite fabulous. My favourite pieces from the range are the lipsticks, but we all know I have issues when it comes to adding a pop of colour to my otherwise boring face. Armed with some new goodies, including two new skincare pieces, I thought I’d bring together a round up of what has landed on my doorstep lately.
Brand new and heading straight to my bathroom is the I am Woman Dry Oil Body Polish, a Himalyan Pink salt based scrub delicately scented with the signature I am Woman scent. The great thing about a dry oil based body scrub is that it’s so lightweight, whilst the oil sinks in to the skin really easily. The Himalyan salt is a mineral that draws out toxins from the skin, leaving skin exfoliated and smooth. The addition of Kiwi seeds gives a boost of vitamin C to help firm skin, whilst Avocado, Olive and Jojoba Oils soften and smooth and soothe. It’s very luxurious, and a handful of the body polish is enough to do my arms and legs with ease. The scent isn’t too overpowering and although it lingers on the skin, it’s nowhere near as deep as the actual perfume.
I am a bit late to the game when it comes to setting sprays. Having used MAC Fix + for more years than I can remember, I haven’t really played about with any of the new versions. When I saw the Joan Collins Timeless Beauty Ten Effects Skin Treat and Makeup Fixer, I was quite intrigued to see just how it fared compared to my old faithful. First of all, I’m just going to mention the scent, as to be honest it’s my only negative. I seem to be very hypersensitive to scents at the moment, and there is an ingredient within the Ten Effects that is reacting with my skin tone and it doesn’t smell very nice at all. I can smell the rose water base and the freshness of the mango, but I don’t like the overall scent. It’s not ideal when it’s meant to sprayed across the face, however it doesn’t linger and wears off pretty quickly. Using it prior to make up application on bare skin, it plumps and tones whilst giving a boost of hydration with the hyaluronic acid formulation. With regards to fixing make up in place, it does indeed hold on, and leaves my skin looking dewy and fresh. I’ve been spritzing this over powder when I need to reduce the cakiness, and I’ve also found that spraying it on a spoolie and running it through my brows helps keep them in place all day.
Three brand new shades of lipstick to add to my ever growing collection, that includes Evelyn, Fontaine and Crystal, the JCTB formulation is one of my favourites. Creamy, smooth to apply and long lasting, they go on opaque with one swipe and last for an age, with a slight stain to the lip. I can get a whole shift out of one application of lipstick, so you can probably see why I love them. The new additions to my collection are Lady Joan, Sadie and Amanda. Lady Joan; a raspberry pink with a pearlescent sheen, Sadie; a shimmery rose-brown and Amanda; a rich russet toned hazel. Of all the shades, I think that Lady Joan may be the one that sees me through Autumn into Winter with it’s rich raspberry pink.
I adore the Joan Collins Timeless Beauty brand for the sheer reason that every product that crosses my path has been delightful. Have you tried anything from JCTB?
