Although I only mentioned the Joan Collins Timeless Beauty Divine Lips in Evelyn yesterday as part of my matching lips and nails post, I thought that a lipstick this good deserved its own post so we could shower it in adoration. The Joan Collins Timeless Beauty range is a range that has only been introduced to me recently, yet it is flying up to the top of my favourites with its classic yet sophisticated packaging and timeless colour palettes. The Joan Collins Timeless Beauty Divine Lips in Evelyn* is a current ‘most worn’ colour and shows no signs of being replaced.
I once read that Joan Collins does her own make up for photo shoots and films, and was once taught by the creative genius that is Alan Snyder, who created some of the most well known looks on Marilyn Monroe. The Joan Collins Timeless Beauty collection has been years in the making and it definitely has been worth the wait. The colours are empowering and inspiring, yet leaving a made up look that looks classic and stylish with pops of colour on the lips and tips. Every nail varnish has a matching lipstick, and as you well know, I am a sucker for the matchy matchy. The art deco inspired packaging is reminiscent of 70s and 80s Dior and Arden, striking and bold. I’m gushing, I know!
As a huge lipstick queen, just like Joan Collins, I have been wearing the Joan Collins Timeless Beauty Divine Lips in Evelyn, a warm pink coral with a cream finish, for the last few weeks. Of course I have been combining it with the matching nail varnish, also named Evelyn. One of first things that struck me about the Joan Collins lipsticks were the formula. Creamy, non drying and a dream to apply, they are so hydrating. The pigmentation is amazing and one of the reasons why I can’t stop recommeding these lipsticks. I applied one opaque coat at 4am before I left for work. My work day lasted until 5pm. I reapplied the Joan Collins Timeless Beauty Divine Lips in Evelyn just once. Can you believe it? I was sure it was a mistake so I tried again the next day to see how I fared, albeit a shorter work day. No reapplication at all! Not only does it stain your lips, it almost locks in the colour so it doesn’t come off. Sure, the creaminess fades, its not a miracle, but what is left on your lips and the length of time it remains, is definitely a miracle.
Joan Collins Timeless Beauty is available from QVC and direct from the Joan Collins Timeless Beauty website, with the lipsticks priced at £18. I cannot recommend them enough.
