Huda Beauty Lip Kit – Bombshell & Ritzy

Huda Beauty Lip Kit - Bombshell & Ritzy

These Huda Kits are getting a bit addictive and I’ve just added my third kit to my ever growing collection. I can’t work out how they plan the kits and for how long they stay on sale but I picked up the Huda Beauty Lip Kit in the January sales for £20 instead of the usual £29. Bombshell and Ritzy are no longer available at Selfridges in the kit but as with all the kits, you can buy the full size. Showing on Selfridges are the kits in Trophy Wife/Shameless which I need, as well as Trendsetter/ Snobby. They both do say Winter Solstice in the product title, so many they do change seasonally. In that case, I may need to get Trophy Wife before it heads off from sale.

My Huda Lip Kits have predominately been red shades; the festive lip set was the first one I bought then along came Heartbreaker. I need to balance the reds out with a nude so Bombshell & Ritzy are a perfect addition. Even better that it was in the sale! As per the previous kits, the lip shaped tin is still the same but in a nude shade to show the colours inside. Upon opening, a mini Huda BeautyBombshell liquid lipstick, a full size Huda Beauty Bombshell Lip Pencil and a complementary mini lip strobe in Ritzy. The same packaging and applicators are present within the lipstick and lip strobe and the shades are just beautiful.

Huda Beauty Bombshell is a subtle dusty pink medium nude shade that is warm in tone. For me, it’s ideal for day to day as it just finishes a look and doesn’t make me feel like I’m overdoing the lipstick with the rest of my makeup being minimal. The lip liner is soft and creamy and dries down to a budge-proof finish. I do find that the quality of the Huda lip pencils are exceptional. Adding the liquid lipstick over the top of the pencil gives a lovey depth and in all honesty, Bombshell doesn’t need a lip strobe topper as it’s very pretty on it’s own. It wears well, doesn’t dry my lips out but I have noticed that this shade does have a tendency to wear from then inner out a lot easier than some of the others. I do also find this shade to perform better than the reds as it doesn’t seem to flake.

The Huda Beauty Lip Strobe in Ritzy is a rose pink champagne shade that really does pack a punch. I find that only a little is needed of this shade as it’s quite in your face metallic if overloaded. I do love the Lip Strobes and the metallic shimmer finish is to die for. I think I’d like to get more of the pink and iridescent shades as I would make a lot of use of them.

I say this each time but these sets are so good for letting you try the colours before investing in the full sizes, but now I’ve found that I actually want to collect the tins instead!
