Let’s talk lips and tips. I have said this in the past but there is nothing more elegant than nail colour that matches your lips. Since I was crew, I always used to wear two iconic shades; Revlon Cherries in the Snow or MAC Impassioned and i used to love rocking a matching lip and tip. I’ve also spoke about another brand in the past that I took through my cabin crew days which was the Joan Collins makeup collection. It’s such a shame that I stopped this habit and as my fondness for a bright nail and lipstick fell into finding the perfect nude, I’ve never thought about wanting to exact match my nails and lips. Until now. I’ve just discovered Emolyne Cosmetics, an affordable luxury brand that is bringing a plethora of universal shades, nudes that match any skin tone and reds with the perfect undertones to suit anyone. I think I am obsessed.

The Emolyne Lip and Nail kit is a mere £40 and includes a lip liner, lipstick and nail varnish in 30 different shades of red and nude. At just a year old, Emolyne have smashed into the beauty arena at such an unusual time; a time where we can’t explore the beauty halls and swatch makeup on our hands like we used to. Emolyne Cosmetics have used these difficulties to create a website that brings back the personal touch and allows you to shade match so you know you are buying the perfect shade for yourself. The whole concept including the branding and packaging have been executed so well, and I really hope that Emolyne Cosmetics can now make their mark on the beauty industry with their exquistite collection.

The collection is called Metamorphosis and you can buy products individually or within the kit like mine. With the popularity of lip kits at the moment, it’s a great idea to include a nail varnish within the set you can be perfectly matching from top to toe.

The Metamorphosis collection includes:

  • Velvet Semi Matte Lipstick in 30 shades £21 (15 red and 15 nude)
  • Velvet Long Wear Lip Definer in 30 shades £13 (15 red and 15 nude)
  • Gel Lacquer in 30 shades £11 (15 red and 15 nude)

I chose the kit in Nairobi, which wasn’t actually a match that appeared on my shade finder. I did see the shade and fell in love with the dusky rose mauve which is such a me colour. If I was to go back and choose a paler nude I think I would go for a shade such as Lira.

Each product is individually boxed within the kit, but when you open them you see just how luxurious they are. The lipstick case is something to behold. Super sparkly, you push the top of the case down to release the lipstick bullet. The lip pencil looks like it’s made from metal however is sharpens with the greatest of ease. The nail varnish caps pulls off to reveal a the polish lid which is an ideal shape for easy polishing.

The liners are gel formulations so they glide on with ease and stay in place for a long period of time without feathering or bleeding. The lipsticks are a lightweight formula that apply in one swipe and give an opaque coverage. It’s non drying and feels very creamy and dries down into a gorgeous velvet matte finish. The nail polish is ultra glossy and long wearing. Although I was wearing it over acrylics, it lasted forever without chipping. Very impressive.

At the moment, you can only purchase Emolyne Cosmetics via their website but I am hoping that they get snapped up by other stockists soon. I wish them every success on their journey into smashing the beauty world as I think they are so great. It’s time get glamorously groomed with matching lips and tips, ladies.
