You may have noticed from my social media that I am in the throws of a blusher moment. I am obsessed. From liquids, to creams and powders I cannot get enough. I’ve pulled all my favourites to the front of my stash and added in the new shades that I’ve picked up. There’s just so much you can do with blush and it doesn’t have to be confined to just your cheeks. I did nearly purchase the now viral Dior Backstage Rosy Glow blushes prior to them gracing Kylie Jenner’s cheeks, but I persevered. As soon as they went viral and harder to get hold of than unicorn dust then I couldn’t stop thinking about them. Mum found them on Dior.com, she ordered the pink and loved it, I ordered both and the rest as they say is history.

Kylie Jenner’s makeup artist Ariel Tejada has shared his new trend ‘BabyDoll Glam’ and the placement of the blusher sits in places where it will give that naturally sweet and youthful effect. It does take a lot of blusher to achieve this but the overall effect is almost like a contouring with blusher. Fresh, youthful and rosy is now on the menu and now that I have the sold out Dior Backstage Rosy Glow blushes, I’m going to play with the placement to knock years off me.

Whilst I am more of a coral blush girl than I am a pink blush girl, I quite like the difference when I use something more girly. I did read that the Dior Backstage Rosy Glow in 001 Pink was ideal for medium skintones with olive undertones. It looks more on the candy pink side, a colour that I would usually shy away from usually but actually it looks really natural on me.

When I did come to swatch the Dior Backstage Rosy Glow blushes, I found that they’re actually really difficult to pick up with your finger, and barely any product transfer happens. It does make you panic thinking ‘have I wasted my money?’ but thankfully a brush grabs the product well. When I swatched them on my arms, it was quite fun to see how the colours develop with the Colour Reviver technology that reacts with the skin’s moisture levels to develop into a custom shade and rosy finish.

With the cool toned bubblegum pink shade of the blush, I was expecting a colour similar to that on my cheeks but what I found was a paler candyfloss without the cool blue undertone I could see in the pan. It actually works really well on my skintone, and the finish is beautiful. It’s a true satin finish and sits seamlessly on your skin, looking naturally fresh and rosy as intended. Coral 004 is a light medium coral orange powder that actually looks like the colour you see in the pan. I do love a coral colour and they work so well on my skin. Out of the two blushers, I do think I prefer the coral shade but both are incredibly pretty.

I do need to point out just how tiny these blushers are and I was expecting something a little bigger for £29.50 a blush but I don’t find that I need to take too much product from the pan to build my colour unless I am playing around with my version of the BabyDoll Glam look loved by Ariel and Kylie. That being said, I am a HUGE Dior addict, so they would have ended up in my collection at some point. I am really enjoying how these look on the skin so I would definitely recommend you to try one. Or both.
