Oh Pat – you just really want all my money don’t you. Pat Mcgrath; one of the most influential and respected makeup artists in the beauty industry, she has drawn me in hook, line and sinker to her eponymous brand. With our shared love of flawless skin and vibrant pops of colour, every single new release has me reaching for my bank card ready to purchase. I’ve fallen in love with the superior quality of the lipstick formulations, cried over how beautiful the eyeshadows are and now I’ve started to invest in the skin. Pat McGrath Skin Fetish? It certainly is.

What better way to start my Skin Fetish than with the first step in the Sublime Perfection System; the primer. I made quite a statement on Instagram in that the primer was probably one of the best products I’ve ever used in my life. It’s quite a primer. Makeup turned skincare, it’s quite a beautiful texture. Water based and packed full of hyaluronic acid to hold on to moisture as well as botanical extracts to smooth and refine, awaken and refresh the skin. The result – a flawless, blurred skin with a velvet matte touch finish. You need a small amount and I found that two pumps was sufficient for the whole face. When dispensed for the first time I thought I had got a silicone primer (which I cannot stand) as the look of the product looks so stiff, however when you started to warm it to apply to your face it changes into a very thin and watery consistency. It’s just lovely. Foundation glides over the primer, and looks incredible. Flawless, and smooth whilst still maintaining a skin like finish. It really is a fantastic product and many of you have agreed on Instagram that it’s quite unique. I’ll be interested to see how it holds out when I’m wearing makeup on a more consistent basis as I head back into office life.

I’d read really good reviews on the Sublime Perfection Blurring Under Eye Powder so I had to get one. I’ve been using loose powder to set my concealer but with the sheerer makeup that I have been wearing I haven’t needed something so heavy. The Under Eye Powder is almost weightless with it’s delicate and silky sheerness yet when applied it sits beautifully without caking or settling into fine lines. The powder has light reflecting particles which brighten up the undereye whilst giving a blurred and soft focus finish. I wear shade Medium which is invisible on the skin yet works like magic, whether I’m wearing it alone or over concealer and foundation. A fluffy brush such as the old faithful Real Techniques Setting Brush helps give an all over under eye application and my eyes look bright, luminous and most of all awake – handy for when I’m not feeling or looking that way.

Now that we are able to get back in store, I am going to head to Selfridges and get colour matched for the foundation as I am hearing some incredible things. I think I will be Medium 18 – let’s see if my online colour matching skills have worked before I invest! I have a few other products in my wishlist, most recently the Divine Blushes. Nine stunning shades and three are calling to me; Divine Rose, Nude Venus and Nymphette. They look so pigmented and the colour swatches are swoonworthy. At £35, I’m going to have to have a good look at them in person before purchasing as they are at a higher price point than what I would usually spend on a blusher.
