It could be said that I, Anoushka would never need to buy another lipstick in my entire life. Ever. For the rest of my days. But that would be wrong and I would not get the chance to fall in love with new products over and over again. I have been lusting after the Pat McGrath Divine Rose Trio since the launch of the limited edition Divine Rose 2, which I’ve actually avoided purchasing so far. I kept saying to myself to hold off purchasing it and just wait and luckily the waiting paid off as an offer came on the site reducing the trio from £62 to £56 with free shipping. It did take some time to be dispatched and sent over from the USA but, it was worth the wait.

Let’s just talk about the limited edition Pat McGrath Divine Rose collection first of all. It’s iconic. Iconic because none other than supermodel of the world Naomi Campbell is the muse behind this incredible collection. Bloom without caution, Pat McGrath Divine Rose is a ‘sublime suite of legendary lip luxuries in a couture colour collection’ and I couldn’t think of a better way to describe this. The outer packaging is pink and dreamy with the classic statement images that PMG is known for adorning the boxes. The lipstick box does open differently to the usual corded wrap boxes which makes a nice change to the style and is in keeping with the rest of collection. The Divine Rose Lip Trio comes in two colourways; Peach and Pink. I opted for the Pink Trio which is made up of the PermaGel Ultra Lip Pencil in Surburbia, MatteTrance Lipstick in Soft Core and the LUST: Gloss in Divine Rose and with these shades, I have found my perfect lip look. I am obsessed with these together.

This is my first foray into the world of PMG lip liners and glosses, however I can safely say it will not be my last. The PermaGel Ultra Lip Pencil is spectacular. It applies like a dream and glides onto the lip with precision and pigment, it fills in colour with ease and it’s also waterproof. Surburbia is a medium warm toned deep pink and will work well with many shades I have in my lipstick wardrobe. The liner literally does not budge, even after several gin and tonics. It’s definitely party proof.

When I saw the MatteTrance Lipstick in Soft Core on the promotional material, I loved how the colour was so pretty but had a darker dimension to it. It looks light in the bullet, but when swatched and worn it’s almost like a dirty rose pink that changes in the light. It’s a semi matte finish but it has a creamy and velvety feel that just works beautifully. A light wash of colour is enough for an opaque finish due to the intense concentration of pigment within the formulation. It wears beautifully and lasted several hours. It’s almost weightless on the lip. I didn’t find it drying or hydrating – it was almost like it wasn’t there in the first place. That’s a very good benchmark for a matte lipstick.

A brand new shade joins the extensive shade range of LUST: Gloss and this is the Divine Rose, named after the collection itself. A warm toned, soft medium pink, Divine Rose looks more like how I was expecting Soft Core to look when swatched. It’s creamy to the point of milky on the lips and has a semi opaque pearlescent finish. For a gloss, I was pleasantly surprised in how long its lasts and the fact that it was completely non sticky and I didn’t get any hair/lip gloss moments whilst wearing it.

There’s no wonder why Pat McGrath comes very highly rated with the exceptional products that she has to offer. Whilst you can get the Trio kit directly from Pat McGrath to save £29 on the overall cost, the individual products work out cheaper to buy them from Selfridges if you didn’t want all three.
