I’ve been waiting for the right time to write my post about the new blusher from Benefit. As with all new Benefit releases there is a huge hype that surrounds the product. What gets me the most is after the initial release and the positive comments, there comes a barrage of negativity and I try and distance myself so I can form my own opinions. On this occasion, the hype is right and the new Benefit Majorette Blusher* has become a daily essential in my life as well as my mums. Lets see why this cream blush is ticking all the boxes.
First of all, I must mention how much I usually shy away from cream blushers. I can’t work them, I can’t seem to get them right and I always end up looking like a clown. When I met up with Lisa Potter-Dixon at the Bling Brow event and had a mini make up touch up, she added just the right amount of Majorette to have me sold. Benefit Majorette Blusher is a gorgeous pinky peach cream to powder blush that adds just the right amount of pop to your cheeks. The colour is so natural and I think it would suit all skin tones as it can be applied sheerly over fair skins and built up over darker skin tones.
I love the marketing idea behind Majorette. It can be worn alone, however it is also a shade that gives extra oomph to your Benefit Box O’Powder. I have a few of the powders and my favourite has to be Rockateur. As Rockateur is such a sheer rose gold powder, it works beautifully with Majorette. I must also mention the scent as it is definitely a winner. It smells like Fruit Salad sweets, and is totally good enough to eat.
Packaging wise, it is one of the better packaging ideas for a blush. As much as I love my Box O’Powders, they can get tatty in my make up bag so the plastic packaging is great for my travels. With a handy mirror inside as well as a plastic domed protector, my Majorette is safe and sound. Although the gorgeous pattern imprinted in the blush has now disappeared, I am still totally enamoured with Majorette.
Now that I have been getting used to working with a cream blush, it has enabled me to use my other cream blushes with ease and I haven’t had any clown cheeks. Have you tried Benefit Majorette Blusher? What do you think?
