Yes, it’s true. I am addicted to highlighter and no, I’m not sorry one little bit. The hotly anticipated collaboration between Queen of Brows Anastasia Soare and YouTube sensation Nicole Guerriero made me very excited from the moment it was announced. As a huge lover of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminators and Glow Kits, I could not wait for the launch, especially now that you don’t have to order from the USA. If you didn’t know, Anastasia Beverly Hills now have a UK depot that stocks most items from the collection. I’m still waiting for them to stock the liquid lipsticks, however patience is a virtue and I know that I will be able to get some more for my collection soon. Anyway, back to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Nicole Guerreiro Glow Kit because I am so excited to show you just how fabulous it is.
I ordered my glow kit on the Friday night from the Anastasia Beverly Hills UK website, at £39 with free shipping. It did state that it could take 7 to 10 days for it to reach me but to my surprise, it arrived the followed Wednesday. I was really apprehensive awaiting it’s arrival as I had seen some horror stories on social media and people had received their palettes damaged and the powders had been smashed in transit. This seems to be due to the exceptionally soft formula of the powders, but mine arrived in perfect condition and packaged up quite securely. I’m not sure if the people who received their damaged had ordered from ABH or from stockists such as Sephora, who just place items in boxes with no parcel padding, as opposed to the carton I received mine in that was similar to when you order a book from Amazon.
As soon as I opened the box and saw the pale pink shimmery box of the glow kit, it was lust at first sight. Unlike the old Glow Kits, the Nicole Guerriero Kit was a six pan palette like the Ultimate Glow Kit (which I also have but have yet to review). Six pans of warm toned, rose golden hues that are so beautiful that my fingers went straight in to them to swatch. The shades are heavenly, and there isn’t a single colour that I wouldn’t wear. As mentioned, the formulation is buttery soft, and I would liken it to that of the Becca Champagne Pop highlighter – silky smooth, heavily pigmented and easy to pick up on a brush. The overall effect is quite metallic, with an intense finish but without leaving shimmery particles on the skin.
Kitty Kat (my favourite) is a warm toned, medium peachy pink with a platinum reflects
Forever Young is a warm toned, light to medium pink pearl with silver reflects
Daydream is a warm toned bright coral orange with white gold reflects
Forever Lit is a cool toned bright white ppatinum with lavender reflects
Glo Getter is a warm toned bright rose gold with bronzed copper reflects
143 is a warm bronzed gold
As you can see from the swatches (and apologies that they’re not the best – I nearly broke my back taking them!), the colours are very intense with some more intense than others. Each of the swatches was placed on my arm on un-primed skin using my finger tip and one swipe for full coverage and opacity. I cannot tell you just how impressed I am with the formulation and coverage. Having worn each shade to get a feel for the palette, I keep going back to two colours, Kitty Kat and Forever Lit. I am having a love affair with Kitty Kat as it just gives such a beautiful finish to my skin without looking too peachy pink. Forever Lit isn’t a highlight colour that I would usually wear but it just transfers into something special whilst on. I have also been adding Forever Lit over the top of my liquid lipsticks for an iridescent finish, which I absolutely adore. I’m feeling very Unicorn-y at the moment I must admit.
For me, the price point is just right with each colour coming in at just £6.50. Although the pans are smaller and non removable like the original Glow Kits, I think this palette is a definite must for any beauty lover who loves a warm toned highlighter, especially as the shades are so complimentary to a warm skin tone.
Have you succumbed to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Nicole Guerreiro Glow Kit? What do you think?
