There’s a whole lotta lovin’ on the blog this week for Anastasia Beverly Hills. Moving swiftly up the ranks to one of most trusted and most favoured brands, I have been picking up quite a few items from the ABH line as of late. Of course, my first foray into the range was in the form of the ABH Dip Brow and Brow Wiz, swiftly followed by the concealer (amazing) and contour kit and then the liquid lipsticks and lip glosses. I’ve been head over heels for the Lustrous Lip Gloss set, and I’ve been sporting Candy Apple at every opportunity. I managed to hunt down the newest item from the collection, after many air miles and lots of trips to Macy’s. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminators So Hollywood & Peach Nectar have found home in my stash and my god girls, they are just perfection.
There are four shades in the illuminators; Riviera, Starlight, So Hollywood and Peach Nectar. I’m very tempted to buy the rest of the shades when I get chance as they can really change the look of your skin with the light reflecting particles. The glow they give off is just so beautiful and rather than the metallic sheen that comes with a highlighting powder, the finish is so sheer, that it looks like natural light across the high points of your face.
So Hollywood is a shimmery golden bronze that flatters all skin tones. Although it looks champagne in the pan, under the light, the bronze tones really come out. It’s such a beautiful colour that reminds me very much of Charlotte Tilburys Bar of Gold. My mum is trying out So Hollywood so it looks like I will have to repurchase another as I doubt I’ll get it back!
Peach Nectar was definitely my shade from the moment I saw it. I do have quite a collection of champagne hued highlighters so the rose gold shade was something different for me. I have been flitting between this and Becca Champagne Pop and I just love how sheer the ABH Illuminator is for day to day wear.
I think I have become a bit of a highlighter addict. I don’t know why but I can’t seem to stop buying all things shimmery and shiny. I bought my illuminators from Macy’s for $28 but they are available in the UK from Cult Beauty for £28.
