Well, it’s that special time of the year again, and what a year it’s been. 2020 has seen the worst virus in living memory, mass movements and a President who refuses to leave the White House peacefully. Luckily, not much is left of the year and 2021 just might be a good one.

That being said, Christmas doesn’t have to be ruined, and all the magic we are used to and expect is still there, despite the miserable circumstances of a pandemic. The Covid-19 outbreak has left us all feeling a bit lonely, but it is possible to cheer up and get into the holiday spirit.

How can we do this? You may ask. Well, create our own wonderland, of course. If going into 2020 we were one thing, it was stylish. Seasonal fashion and style have never been so chic in the world than it is right now, despite the current problems.

Now, you have probably already adorned your home for Christmas, given that the day is almost upon us, but there are still a few things you can do to perk up the decorations and give that extra pop this holiday season.

Accessorizing isn’t just for the night out. No. Accessories can be used anywhere, anytime and by anyone. Just like bangles, bracelets and belts can accent your fashion image, so too can your home be lifted with a few simple placements.

Traditional Christmas themes associate warm colors and nature such as natural wreaths with holly and red berries, brown logs and the orange glow of a warm fire accented with the white of glistening snow and a massive Christmas tree, National Lampoon’s style.

Then there is the more modern type of Christmas theme, the colder, shinier, cleaner style made famous by movies like Frozen. White snowflake adornments should littler the room, accented by silver and gold shiny hangers and cutouts.

Foregoing the usual green tree in favor of a modern white tree might not be to everyone’s taste, but if used properly can really enhance the feeling of cold and Christmas warmth at the same time. If you do use a white tree, then make sure to place silver, gold or even glittery red items on it in order to balance out the colors.

Utilizing ice-like sculptures such as small plastic see-through conical Christmas trees or reindeer will add a sense of Winter magic while carefully placing any glass living room furniture can really enhance the sense of a frozen land but you must break the monochrome with some carefully placed color.

In a strange way, setting this up properly actually feels warm thanks to the way the light reacts with silver and gold-colored objects, especially if you pair it with warm glowing LED lights either as hanging lights, inside other ornaments or on your tree.

So, if you are prepared to make a few small changes, your Christmas style can really shine through and create an “On-Ice” feel in your home that’s warmer than you think.
