Lime Crime Astronomical Volume Coloured Mascara

A few years ago, I was absolutely obsessed with coloured mascaras. I remember Marc Jacobs Beauty bringing out a ranging of fabulous shades and I wore them all the time. I’ve always been a fan of a coloured mascara as I just think it gives a great dimension to an otherwise bland look without going over the top of shadow shades and with the most minimal effort. Whether its a colour tickled on the tips of black mascara, a full top lash of colour or even a bottom lash colour, it’s so much fun to play around with them. Having not seen anything by way of coloured mascaras recently, I was over the moon to see that Lime Crime have launched their Astronomical Volume Coloured Mascaras in four shades.

A classic black, an 80’s blue, a pretty pastel lilac and a shocking green, the formulation of the Lime Crime Astronomical Volume Coloured Mascara is vegan and cruelty free whilst being volumising and buildable. I find that two coats give maximum effect on the look especially with the black but the result is a lightweight finish with non clumpy lashes and a fluttery finish. I wouldn’t usually go for a mascara that resulted in fluttery lashes usually but for the definition of colour, it’s actually perfect. I’ve also had a play around with the colours on false lashes and they work like a dream. The fibre brush helps separate the lashes and even catch the smaller wispier lashes for maximum effect. I am obsessed with the lilac shade as it’s such a me shade but I was most surprised by how good the green looks too.
