New York Themed Wedding – Fanny Crown

Last week I received an invitation to a very special wedding reception for two of my close friends, Terri and Rachel. My beautiful friends are getting wed in New York City in February and as we can’t all attend the NYC wedding, they are having a wedding reception in Brighton to celebrate their nuptials with their nearest and dearest. The dress code is Men in tuxedos and the Women to wear their best Carrie Bradshaw dresses and heels. What a fabulous dress code. Myself and my best friend Matt will be heading to Brighton to stay in one of the finest hotels, the Hotel Du Vin and head to the reception. From the moment I received the invitation, I knew that I wanted to wear a prom style cocktail dress and treat myself to a gorgeous pair of designer heels.

After browsing the Fanny Crown website, I saw a dress and it stopped me in my tracks. Although the dress pictured is white, and is stunning, I know that I can’t wear white to a wedding especially with this design being so bridal. Therefore, I would choose the dress in a blush pink, and accessorise with silver. The Monique Lhuillier inspired ruffles of this dress are simply captivating and would fit the dress code perfectly. What I particularly love about Fanny Crown is that each dress is tailored to your measurements so for someone like myself who is top heavy and also quite tall, I know that this dress would be a perfect fit which takes the stress out of having to get the dress tailored at a later stage. To complete the outfit, I want to treat myself to the Jimmy Choo Lance Metallic Shoes in silver and Cayla clutch. I would keep my jewellery simple with the Tiffany Jazz graduated diamond drop earrings, the Tiffany Infinity necklace and perhaps an art deco inspired ring. Art deco is so in right now and besides it’s a timeless fashion option too. Not only that but they’re a more enviromentally responsbile purchase! I would wear my hair swept off my face in a loose but stylish up-do, which will be perfect for dancing the night away.

My make up will be simple yet elegant, a soft smoky eye with some loose glitter pigments pressed onto the lid for added sparkle and a nude lip using a sheer lip colour like Tom Ford Paradiso.

I am so excited to attend what will be the wedding of the year and watch these two beautiful girls, who are so crazy in love, celebrate the rest of their life together.
