28 Days of Lipstick: Day Eighteen | YSL Rouge Volupté Shine #19 Fuchsia in Rage

Day Eighteen already and I feel that I still haven’t touched the surface of my lipsticks! Today I am bringing another YSL Rouge Volupté Shine to the table, #19 Fuchsia in Rage. I’ve had this gorgeous colour for about a year or so, and I believe that Lisa Eldridge mentioned it in a youtube video, thus sending the bloggers community into a spin. YSL Rouge Volupté Shine #19 looks quite scary in the tube but oh my, what a different story it is once applied.

I won’t get into a conversation about packaging as if you have read my previous posts on #6 Pink in Devotion and #34 Pink Asarine, you will know how much love I have for the slick gold tube with a coloured band with the cut out YSLs. Too beautiful. The lipstick itself is a vibrant purple grape colour that just screamed out my name when I saw it. It is slightly intimidating at first however when you swatch it on your hand it comes across as a deep purple toned magenta, that is no where near as intense as the colour in the tube.

As with all the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine lipsticks, the colour is sheerer than the originals however it can be built up to a more opaque colour, or patted on with your finger to create a stained effect. I, of course, got as much lipstick on as possible as the colour is just amazing! The longevity is a good 3 hours, maybe less but as I keep saying, who cares when you can pull a gorgeous lipstick like the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine out of your bag!
