Oh Benefit, I do love you and your Box O Powders. From back in the day where I used to wear Bella Bamba, which has sadly been discontinued to the gloriously gorgeous 10; a bronzer and highlighter duo. There is also the cult classic Hoola which is one bronzer that I fall back to time and time again. I’ve also just remembered Dallas too. Now, that was a gorgeous shade for day to day wear. There has been quite a revamp with the Benefit Box O Powder and the shade selection now focuses on wearable, pretty shades as well as some glowy highlighters. I’ve recently got my hands on the newly relaunched Georgia blush and thought I would share my Benefit Box O Powder collection. Why don’t you see which Benefit blush is your perfect match.

Lets start with Georgia* and get reacquainted with a classic shade that I believe first launched back in 2005 or so. The original shade was fairly light so never ended up in my collection simply because it didn’t show up on my olive skin. It did have a lovely satin sheen when swatched but it was more suited to fairer skin tones. Fast forward to 2020, and this is a launch that I am so excited for. The warm golden peach is deeper in colour, with a fine golden pearl running throughout. It still retains that satin finish and gives a lovely sheen. It work work beautifully with Majorette if Benefit ever wanted to bring that back too – hint, hint. It does have a tendency to develop hard patches on the blush as you can see from my images but I find that a bit of tissue or even sellotape brings this off with ease. The overall effect, a glowy sheen of warm peachy across your cheeks and it’s perfect for laid back stay at home vibes. It’s also scented like juicy peaches which makes for a fun experience.

When Rockateur was released back in 2013, I was first in the queue on pre release day to get my Box O Powder. Since then I have had another one or two boxes of this gorgeous powder blush and when it’s brand new, it has the coolest multi dimensional design. Rockateur is a warm toned rose gold blush that has a satin finish and really good wear time. I find that it does oxidise somewhat during the day but the peachy pink shade gives a lovely flush that doesn’t look too doll like. My last post on this blush was back in 2013 and it’s safe to say that Rockateur has stood the test of time and has sat firmly in my most loved pile.

Benefit knocked it out of the park with Gold Rush and I treated myself to a box whilst in the airport before heading off to Bali. To say it has strong memories attached is an understatement because Gold Rush was my holiday glow and I love it. Another warm toned blush, this time in a medium peach with a luminous pearlescent finish. The golden sheen finish looks so pretty on the skin and when you have a tan, it gives off even more of a golden glow. This will always be my summer holiday blush shade as I find it to be really hard wearing and as it is a more denser formulation, it can be used for highlighter as well as a dusting across decolletage and shoulders.

When I think of a fun summer blush shade, Galifornia is the one that springs to mind. Since this launched in 2018, I have kept this blusher in a consistent rotation and at Christmas, I grabbed myself a brand new one to replenish my stocks. This shade is not for the feint hearted and applies to the skin as a bright medium pink coral. It has warm undertones and a lovely golden pearl that leaves a fresh glowy finish. It truly is one of the most beautiful blushes that I own and will continue to own for as long as they make it.

To complete every made up face, I need to add a little bit of highlight and Benefit Dandelion Twinkle has also forged its way into my heart. Another beautiful shade that works so effortlessly in that lit from within glow that we all want from our make up. Dandelion Twinkle is another warm toned shade that works so well on my skin, and it;s a very light champagne peach with a fine opalescence. The powder itself is incredibly fine so when it’s applied to the skin, it feels like velvet. On the swatch, I have liberally applied as a light handed swatch is barely visible but packs quite a punch in the light. It doesn’t have any shimmer in it so that luminous glow is almost ethereal. It’s beautiful, and just like Galifornia it will remain with me for as long as they make it!
