Too Faced Sex on The Peach Set
A staple item in my makeup kit has to be a pressed or loose translucent powder and I go through a lot of it. For day to day wear, I use it to set my face in place and I can guarantee that the majority of my makeup is still where it should be by the end of the day. Now that we seem to be in this freak heatwave again, my makeup hasn’t been lasting at all so to have a powder to hand to keep shiny patches at bay has been a god send. After popping into Too Faced to get a replacement Primed and Poreless, I had to pick an alternative as they were sadly out of stock. The lady recommended the Peach Perfect loose powder as a good replacement. Usually the Peach Perfect powder alone would retail at £20 which I think is a great price for a pot with 35g of product however when she showed my the Sex on the Peach set and the additional products that it came with, I snapped up this little bargain in an instant. Luckily, the set is still available for you to get your hands on, and it’s so worth it.
Starting with Peach Perfect, this loose setting powder smells of fresh peaches and is a beautifully, finely milled powder that works wonders. The scent does disappear when applied to your face so you won’t be walking around smelling like a peach. You’ll just look like one. The dust like powder is so fine that it’s impossible to use too much of it and end up looking cakey or heavily done up. The shade is perfectly neutral. It doesn’t look white or leave a cast on my medium skin tone and I do feel that this would work on any skin tone as there isn’t a colour to it. Straight away you can see it mattify and remove shine and the formula holds in my foundation and concealer without settling into fine lines. Packaging wise, it’s perfect for travel as the pot does have a flip lid under the main lid to stop the product from escaping but it’s also not too bulky whilst still looking luxurious. I really do think that Peach Perfect is the one!
Within the set are two of Too Faced’s newest releases in the Peach range as well as their iconic Better Than Sex mascara. With the Better than Sex mascara, I have used this many a time in both the original as well as the waterproof option. In my opinion, it is a good mascara but I do find the original to be really very wet and tends to clump when it’s new. To combat this, I like to leave the lid off it for a small period of time to let it start to dry a little and then it becomes very workable to give great lashes that are not only blacker than black but look volumised, lengthened and thick. It’s not my favourite mascara, granted but I do find that I go back to it often as a back up. The mascara is £19 so it’s not at the cheaper end of the scale but you can get the smaller sizes for £12
The peach products in the set really make this a great value set as essentially they aren’t costing you anything! I hadn’t tried either of these before purchasing so I was really exciting to give them a whirl and see how I liked them. Spoiler – loved them! The Too Faced Primed and Peachy Primer in the travel sized tube would usually retail at £12, with the full size at £26. After spending many a year using the Benefit The POREfessional, I would switch over to Too Faced without a doubt. Again, the signature peach scent comes into play but the primer itself is a delight. The primer is cooling on the skin when applied and leaves a beautifully matte and soft focus finish that doesn’t bobble up under my foundation. I also found that I didn’t experience any pooling of natural oils during the day which I do get with other silicone based primers. Pores appeared visibly reduced and my skin looked matte but not dull and combined with the Peach Perfect setting powder, my face was perfectly set all day.
After mattifying and setting everything in place, the final step in my routine will be to make sure that I’m completely set for the day by finishing off with a spritz of setting spray and the Too Faced Peach Mist is just gorgeous. How I’ve not tried this before is beyond me because so far, I think it knocks socks off my others. Lightweight and silky, the fine mist sets the makeup and removes any shine should there be any. It’s also a handy handbag essential for refreshing makeup during the day. Whilst it does mattifying, it also keeps skin looking radiant and fresh with a dewy but not shiny finish.
The total contents of the Sex on The Peach set come to £63 whereas the box to purchase is just £33. It’s a definite winner in my eyes. I’m not too sure if this is a limited edition with stock remaining but I wouldn’t risk not picking one up if you wanted to try more of the Too Faced peach range.
