Too Faced Born This Way New and Improved!

Back in April 2017, I wrote a blog post on the brand new Too Faced Born This Way Foundation and Concealer and just how wonderful it was. Well, a lot has changed since then and in just a few short years Born This Way has completely upped its game from wonderful to flat out fabulous. It’s time to delve into the newness and see what has changed in comparison to the original offerings and how a new shade can change your face in an instant.
When it comes to foundation, I instantly know my colour but over the last few years there have been some changes in my lifestyle and I unfortunately don’t have that year long tan. Whilst I was only wearing the natural beige shade in my previous post, I have found that it is now erring on the orange side when I wear it. Absolutely fine when I have tanned but when I’m not tanned then it’s very obvious that it’s the wrong colour. I have dropped down just one shade to Light Beige and the colour match is quite frankly perfect. The Too Faced Born This Way foundation hasn’t changed in formulation since the launch as it has always been a very strong contender with it’s lightweight formula yet unbelievable medium to full coverage.
When I wear BTW I know that I am getting a full day of wear, even when I’ve been faced with the weather conditions, sat in an air conditioned office and touching my face whilst at work. It literally doesn’t budge until its time to remove it at the end of the day. As it’s an oil free formulation, I also find that it holds so much better onto my skin and doesn’t cake on the drier areas. A touch of primer beforehand does prolong longevity and I love how it looks like skin; undetectable. Using the same nourishing properties of coconut water, alpine rose and hyaluronic acid, my skin feels fresh all through the day. I am also incredibly impressed now that the shade range does run through 35 different shades to bring inclusivity to this incredible brand.
The big change has come with the Born This Way concealers and the old Naturally Radiant Concealer has now been discontinued to make way for the new and improved Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi Use Concealer. I did have three shades; one for concealing, one for highlight and one for contour however due to a freak rain storm my shopping bag collapsed and I lost my contour shade Cookie. Luckily, contouring is not something that I take part in that often so the two shades of Light Beige and Shortbread are ideal. Shortbread is the most insane brightening shade for my skin tone and I’m relying on this each morning to make me look so much more awake and alert than I am!
Formulation wise, this is where the magic happens. A whole new ball game compared to the previous formula, the new BTW Concealers are simply divine. Thick and creamy, but easy to blend. They can be used in moderation or at full throttle depending on your level of coverage or for whatever you are using them for whether it be sculpting, contouring or highlighting. They are seriously hydrating yet weightless on the skin and I get minimal creasing. They also work like a dream as an eyeshadow base if you are multi using. To say I’m impressed is quite the understatement and it shows as I have cast my NARS Soft Matte to the side and it hasn’t been picked up since.
The final part of this genius combination has to be the Too Faced Born This Way Multi Use Complexion Powder in Light Beige. A foundation formulation, it can be worn alone for a radiant light coverage finish or as a finishing powder over the top your BTW foundation and concealer. Finely milled and light air, there is no cakiness and it sets everything in place for the day.
I don’t think I’ve found a combination that works so well as the Born This Way collection and I’ve even swapped out my Peach Perfect loose powder in exchange for the pressed powder which is so unlike me!
Have you tried the Born This Way range? Isn’t it just amazing!
