I love a little round up post and especially when I’m talking about my skincare update. I’ve been adding in new products to my current routine and these are the ones hitting the headlines right now. My skincare rotation has been getting bigger and bigger lately and I’m making a more conscious effort to make sure that I am using things up to the end rather than wasting things. As skincare has become such a huge thing in the last few month, it seems to have overtaken my passion for makeup, but I have found a routine and products that work for me so any additions that I try need to be good for me to make room for them on my skincare shelfie.

Skincare Updates

Hada Labo Tokyo Deep Wrinkle Superfiller Day and Night Cream

At the beginning of the year Hada Labo started to feature in my daily routine and I have found love with the Skin Plumping gel packed full of Hyaluronic acid. Definitely up there in my favourite day creams, I was keen to try more from the brand, that has been getting such good reviews for it’s Korean inspired products. Superfiller is very different to the skin plumping gel. It’s much thicker in consistency and I find that I can only use it at night due to how thick it is. It takes a long time to sink into the skin but once it’s applied you can feel hydrating it is. Containing 4 types of hyaluronic acid, it’s ideal for this time of year now that it’s getting colder. I’m also very impressed with the price point with the entire range being under £20 per item.

Transformulas Marine Miracle Face and Eye Cream

These are oldies but goodies for sure. A brand that I used to use a lot when I was flying Transformulas have nailed the ‘beauty without surgery’ trend with targeted products that work effectively to save you from having ‘tweakments’. Marine Miracle Eye cream is exceptionally light but nutrient rich to help minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, whilst hydrating the delicate eye area. Add in the Marine Miracle cream and your skin will be looking so good. This has been a well loved product over the years due it’s intense hydrating properties. With marine algae, sea kelp and sea salt extracts, which are all known for their natural healing and anti ageing properties, your skin will drink this up. It’s fantastic.

Pixi Clarity Acid Peel

I was so excited to try the Clarity Acid Peel when it was released. I found that the products from the Clarity range are ones that I use quite frequently when my skin isn’t behaving and it really helps in ridding blemishes and giving me a fresh blank canvas. I really wanted to like the acid peel but I can’t get on with texture. It’s more of a gommage so as you are applying it to your skin in a nice even layer, it’s actually rubbing off at the same time. If the texture was different, it would be so much better. That being said, when it is rubbed off my skin feels super smooth and exfoliated, dead skin cells are gone and my face looks so much brighter after the AHAs and BHAs have been to work. Just change the texture and I’m sold!

SkinCeuticals Silymarin CF Serum

This is the one that I am most excited about and have been wanting to try for such a long time. I’m still very new to it so results have yet to be seen but so far I can see why it is spoken about so highly. It’s not cheap and at £145 for 30ml it’s an investment. It’s a very powerful serum with an almost weightless consistency that sinks into skin with ease. The salicylic acid works to control excess oil and shine, whilst leaving skin looking mattified. It’s great if you have problem prone skin and whilst I usually don’t, due to a medication change I’m getting flare ups that I need to control.

It also contains 15% of pure Vitamin C to brighten the skin and protect against aggressors whilst ferulic acid tackles the fine lines and wrinkles leaving a more luminous looking complexion. I’m really enjoying this so far and I can see that it’s working already.
