Dr Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Correcting Treatment

Let me start by saying that this product is an absolute gamechanger and has changed my makeup application. For so many years I got stuck in that rut where I felt that I need full coverage foundation and couldn’t go out with a face on. Even when I started to get more comfortable with minimal makeup, I still have that issue where I have to have to wear something when I leave the house. All I want from life is for an even complexion. Well, I have found the solution. The solution to my needs and the gift of an even complexion with no need for makeup. Introducing Dr Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Correcting treatment, the little pot of goodness that I am low key obsessed with.

My uneven complexion comes from some redness that sits around my cheeks. It’s not overly bad but in the days where everyone looks like a filter, I can really see it stand out when I don’t wear foundation. Usually, my foundation will cover it but I feel that its looking more pronounced then I’ll use a colour corrector to balance it out.

There has been a lot of talk around the Dr Jart Cicapair range since it’s launch back in the new year so when I was having a mini Boots haul, I thought I may as well pick up the 15ml tub to see how I get one and potentially invest in the 50ml in the future. When it arrived, I was curious. Its got an unusual texture and is a pale green colour. There’s no discernible scent but I was interested in what the results.

With Dr Jart being a Korean skincare brand, you know from the offset that we are going to see results. Korean skincare is well renowned for having some of the best products in the world. Dr Jart Cicapair range has been designed specifically to neutralise redness and has been formulated using Tiger Grass; a herb used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat wounds and infections. With this in mind, skin concerns such as acne, rosacea and eczema will benefit from Cicapair.

Dr Jart Cicapair has been described as more of a base before makeup or the equivalent to a BB/CC Cream. One thing I have to point out is that you do not need a lot. Too much and you end up looking grey cast which isn’t a good look for a healthy living person! I prefer to dot the product on my skin and blend but you can also warm a small amount in your hands to kick start the colour change before applying. I do feel like you do waste product this way but it’s up to you. I also find that adding it to dry skin does feel a bit cloying and difficult to blend out so make sure skin is moisturiser and/or primed. A spritz of a beauty elixir before use also helps.

The Dr Jart Cicapair cream does also have an SPF30 built into the formula but due to the small amount of product that you use, I wouldn’t use this solely for it’s sun protection factor as it won’t be adequate.

I would also like to mention that as the end colour is beige, I don’t think it is suitable for other skintones. I am a neutral medium tone so it works perfectly for me. For anyone fairer, I can imagine that due to the small amount you need it wouldn’t be too much of a colour difference which could be warmed up with bronzer. I do hope that Dr Jart are looking at bringing out a shade range for this product as it’s so good.
