Intense Beauty with Bobbi Brown

There have been some intense changes occurring in my house lately and I’m not talking about the manic decorating that has been going on. It’s me. I have been making changes and you’re going to be so shocked when I tell you what I have been doing. Each morning after I roll out of bed ready to do the long commute to the next room to WFH, I am stopping off at my dressing table to put some makeup on. I know, I know. It’s a miracle. I have it in my head that it’s not going to be long before I am back in real world, working from an office that’s not in my spare room and mingling with actual people. What a weird thought. I digress. The makeup and effort has come back but what I have noticed is that I am needing some extra help in the hydration areas because my skin is so dry. Thankfully, Bobbi Brown has me covered with some intense beauty products that are giving me the help that I need.

I always find that I struggle with dehydrated skin more around this time of year which is not surprising. It’s still cool outside, the central heating is still on and I’m probably drinking far too many cups of tea that what would be classed as ‘good for you’. Upping up the ante with the skincare has helped a lot and I am going to rave over the Bobbi Brown Extra range every time I get chance. The Extra Repair Serum which I spoke about previously has been a god send but when combined with the Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Moisturising Balm its doing great, great things. The Moisturising Balm contains all the same ingredients as cult favourite Moisturising Cream but with the added bonus of SPF25. The rich emollient cream contains our favourite Clary Sage to soothe and reinforce the skins barriers and hold onto the moisture being put into the skin. Argirline Peptides works tirelessly to lift sagging skin (I’ve been slathering it onto my neck) and as it is deeply hydrating, it’s suitable from dry to extra dry skin types. It’s a winner for me and I cannot tell you just how much I love the Bobbi Brown skincare range.

Whilst I have been a fan of the Bobbi Brown Skin Long Wear Lightweight Foundation since it’s launch, I think I have found one that may just take the top spot. The Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation is an absolute dream of a product. It reminds me a little of Estee Lauder Perfectionist, with the silky formulation that gives a flawless finish. It’s very hydrating but doesn’t look oily or too glowy and stays in place all day. Key ingredients Cordeyceps and Artemia help create a smoother and brighter complexion and the SPF40 assists with ageing and protecting the skin. It’s a truly beautiful foundation and I’m so glad I chose it as one of my monthly picks. Weirdly, I haven’t ever looked at this online as I have always gone straight to the Skin Long Wear by default! I’ve been wearing my usual shade which is Natural and I think I’m tempted to try the Intensive Concealer next.

Speaking of concealers, I’ve chosen the Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer to go into my intense beauty product picks for to reasons. One: this bad boy covers up absolutely everything with ease and two; it gives the most amazing base if you wanted to use it as a foundation. For concealer purposes, I get my shade in Beige which is one shade lighter than my foundation and I use this under my eyes to brighten. For concealing skin blemishes, I use Natural which is the matching shade. I always have two of these on the go in two different shades and when combined with the corrector it magic really does happen. With the use a base, sometimes when I don’t need a huge amount of foundation a little swipe from the doe foot applicator onto several areas of the face before buffing in with a flat topped brush gives a really quick and easy, natural and not overloaded flawless skin base without the feeling of wearing heavy foundation. It’s not something I do often but it’s handy for when you need it!
