It’s been over a month since our lives have been affected by the lock down procedures that have been put in place to keep us safe. Safe in our homes, and although I’m away from my loved ones, I have to admit just how much I have been enjoying this down time. I have also been off work so I have been making the most of my days and catching up with those tasks around the house that have been plaguing me for months. I’ve come to the realisation that I actually don’t need a lot. A few hobbies and some routine and I am thriving. The one thing that I have noticed throughout all of this is my sleep. Having no set time to go to bed or no set wake up time has really pushed me out of a routine that I actually enjoy being in. I’ve also found that I have been experiencing extremely vivid dreams, which I believe is from my brain adapting to the current pandemic that we are in. In order to address this, I’m ensuring that my sleep pattern is affected as little as possible and have tried to keep my usual working sleep patterns. Bed at 10pm and alarm set for 7am is making me feel much better in myself. I’m also making sure that my bedroom is a sanctuary; beautiful bedding, peaceful surrounds and a little assistance in dropping off into a restful slumber. I’ve been a huge fan of Feather & Down Sleep products since they launched and I have previously written about their benefits in my sleep before, but since I was first introduced to the brand I have amassed quite a back up of products. I was kindly sent a wonderful pack of products whilst I was still working and experiencing one of the most stressful times of my working career. Feather & Down Sleep really are my not so secret weapons in helping me switch off and relax.

Two weeks prior to Feather & Down sending me a care package, I had just picked up the Feather & Down Bath Essence to help me sleep. Whilst I enjoy a relaxing bath, nothing makes it more enjoyable than having a lavender and chamomile essential oil infused bath. With my Feather & Down baths, I like to make them extra hot so the warm water makes me feel more relaxed and sleepy. They do also have a range called Breath Well which is just perfect should you be suffering from a cold or congestion. For an extra boost, I also like to use the Feather & Down Magnesium Sleep Salts which give a further boost to aid sleep. These dissolve in water very easily and whilst they don’t create any bubbles, the scent fills the bathroom to help relieve all my stresses and tension. If I don’t fancy a bath, then I jump in the shower with the Feather & Down Melting Shower Cream. I recently ordered two of the 250ml tubes (not pictured) and you can also get a smaller version in the gift sets that they do, so you can try before you buy the larger version.

After my bath or shower, I like to spend some time on some self care and that include moisturising and winding down into a blissful state. I like to use the Feather & Down Sleep Body Butter. Not only does it have the beautiful Feather & Down scent, but it melts into skin like a dream leaving me with soft, suppler hydrated skin come morning. If I’m feeling extra tense, a good massage helps an awful lot and if this instance, I call on the Feather & Down Body Oil. An at home massage helps me to reduce tension, work those tight and tired and muscles and leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and supple.

To make my bedroom into a tranquil space, I like to use candles and some pillow spray to ensure I have a beautiful place to relax. I like to light my Feather & Down Candle which is beside my bed, before spraying my bedding liberally with Feather & Down Pillow Spray. The pillow spray has played a large part in my night time routine and I have lost count of how many bottles I have gone through over the last few years. To me, my bedtime routine would not be the same without it and if I could get a laundry tablet and fabric softener in the same scent, I would have my room smelling of lavender and chamomile constantly.

Slipping into my gorgeous bedding at night which I got from Dusk makes my evening and when it’s cold, I like to snuggle up with my Oslo throw. There’s nothing more relaxing than having a beautiful, soft and cosy bedding set and for me, I have to have a pure white set that feels incredibly luxurious as I slip between the sheets.

What are your remedies for a good nights sleep? I’d love to know.

At this time, I do not want to encourage unnecessary spending in light of the current situation so I urge my readers to shop responsibly and only if it is an essential purchase. Thank you.
