I’ve been biding my time to publish this post as the launch date for them on Selfridges is imminent. The Kiss and Love Palette and Kiss and Love Touche Éclat are already on line but there’s still no sign of the lipsticks and I’m getting antsy waiting for them. I picked up my YSL Kiss and Love Rouge Pur Couture Le Fuchsia in Sephora several weeks ago but with the exchange rate and sales tax, they work around the same price and although I don’t want them all, I want two more out of the four. My love for YSL lipsticks is huge, and not only are they the most beautifully packaged but the quality is outstanding.
The limited edition packaging is still sleek and sophisticated with a red lipstick kiss adorning the gold packaging, whilst the outer box gets a full on smooch session. I have a bit of an issue with limited edition packaging – especially from MAC, as they don’t match the others and sometimes look really cheap and gaudy. YSL have hit the nail on the head by being discreet on the packaging and letting the lipstick bullet do the talking. Embossed with lipstick kisses, it makes me not want to use it, but I want everyone to see it’s beauty.
Le Fuchsia is quite similar to other colours that I own but I can’t pin point anything in particular that would dupe it, however is it slightly similar to Tom Ford Violet Fatale. A deep fuchsia magenta blend that runs on the violet side, it’s seriously gorgeous. The creamy formula is non drying, and glides onto the lips like silk. It’s sheer but builds up to a deep opacity with a high shine finish. Longevity is an average 3 – 4 hours, which I think is great for such a high shine finish and as I always say, who would find an issue with reapplying from such a gorgeous tube.
Once I have a specific date, I will let you all know but if you were desperate to get on the waitlist, you need to get in touch with my friend Charlotte, who is the Beauty Personal Shopper at Manchester. She will arrange payment and even post it out for you. She’s on my speed dial!
