I have been changing things around in my make up routine and I’m not sure if it’s because the weather is becoming so lovely or, if I’m getting a new lease of life. I’m feeling the need to be wearing the newest, freshest products on my face, so I have decided to start a new series of posts – the Spring Beauty Updates. Today’s post will be all about the base (’bout that base, no treble), and for the next few weeks I will bring you my picks for the eyes, the lips and anything new that I can’t help but share with you. So, lets get to the nitty gritty and nail that base.
The Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation isn’t a new product to me, but I have had so many people asking about reviews for it due to so man different opinions on the internet. I’ve been using Magic Foundation since it’s launch last Autumn, in shade 5. I wrote a post on my perfect pair – the Magic Foundation and Wonder Glow. My thoughts haven’t changed since then, although my colour shade has gone from 5 to 6. The coverage is amazing, full yet not matte and cakey. A small amount is enough to cover the face and I’ve been using an even smaller amount with my beautyBlender. I love everything about this foundation, from its serum like formula to the flawless finish it leaves on my skin. My only issue is that it just doesn’t last long enough without a good primer underneath. So, I’m still swearing by Wonder Glow and Magic Foundation together, especially for that slightly dewy look that we want this Spring.
Limited Edition products excite me a hella lot, and the Spring/Summer drops are usually the best drops of the year. Fresh, bright and usually with the most gorgeous designs, I can’t stop myself when it comes to buying new goodies. House of Fraser is one of my favourite beauty halls, and the selection of makeup is huge. Stopping by the Givenchy counter, I saw the Givenchy Les Saisons Heathy Glow powder and instantly fell head over heels. I’m using shade 02 Douche Saison, which is a medium golden bronze with golden pearl shimmer. It’s quite a genius little product as the its a gel like formula that turns to powder on the skin whilst leaving a nude skin finish. I’ve been using my Kiko Fusion Powder Brush 01 to dust a light amount across the skin to warm up those areas where the sun would hit my face.
When it comes to Spring make up, I prefer a light, fresh look that doesn’t look like I have a lot of make up on, especially when I need a fuller coverage base and I don’t want to look caked in make up. Perricone MD is a genius brand who have brought the No Makeup Makeup to my life. I’ve been using the No Blush Blush; a serum that adapts to your skin to leave a healthy pink glow that could almost be mistaken for a shy flush on the skin. Easy to apply and non staining, its almost too easy to get the desired look in just three drops of product. The second product from Perricone MD is the No Highlighter Highlighter, and it’s the most delicious highlighter I’ve ever put on my skin. How can a highlighter be so natural, yet so highlightery? A unique highlighter, the serum formula leaves a pearlescent glow on the skin, like you’ve been kissed by the moon. It’s just stunning. I’m obsessed.
Have you seen any Spring Beauty Updates that you can’t live without? I can’t wait to bring my next Spring Beauty Updates post to you. Let me know in the comments whether you would rather see lips or eyes first?
