About two years ago, I had my first ever encounter with the Rodial brand. Free on the front of a magazine was a Rodial Stemcell Glam Balm Lip worth £17. This little tube of goodness made me buy several copies of the same magazine so I was completely stocked up. Since then, I have acquired a hand bag sized Glam Balm multi, from the front of a magazine also, before taking the plunge into the entire Rodial Stemcell Super Food range. There’s something so comforting about the rose scented products, the luxurious quality and the gorgeous purple packaging, and I’m not going a day without using at least one of the products. Here’s the low down on the full range and my favourite items that you must try.
Starting off with the product that got me into Rodial, the Stemcell Super Food Glam Balm Lip Balm. A truly amazing product, I have this in the pot as well as the tube. The pot stays on my dressing table and I use this every day before applying my lipstick. It smells just like turkish delight and whilst the formula gets to work on my dry, chapped lips, the hyaluronic spheres within the formula make my lips look plumped up and hydrated. The tube version is a lot easier for on the go application as the pot requires fingers to apply. It’s a winning product for me.
I have numerous hand creams on the go at the minute so the Stemcell Super Food Hand Cream is another product that stays put on my dressing table. It’s described as being an intensely nourishing hand cream, and although moisturising, I wouldn’t personally say it was the most intense hand cream that I have. It doesn’t take away from the loveliness of it, and my hands do feel soft and silky and the scent of the rose is ever present.
My favourite product out of the range has to be the Stemcell Super Food Cleanser. You all know by now that I am a sucker for cleansers and the Rodial cleanser is just a delightful treat. I have been primarily using the cleanser at night as it melts away all traces of make up in an instant. I prefer to use it with a muslin cloth to mildly exfoliate as I cleanse. The 200ml tub also makes it an absolute bargain as it lasts forever. A small amount of the product is needed to cleanse and it’s lightweight on the skin and not at all cloying. I don’t often use cleansers near my eyes as I have quite a sensitive eye area but with this one, I have no issues at all. My skin feels so soft and looks radiant, and dare I say it but younger! It also works well well with my Foreo Luna for a deeper clean.
It took me quite some time to get used to the last two products from the Stemcell Super Food range. The Stemcell Super Food Day Cream is personally a little too rich for a day cream, so I either wear it on no make up or light make up days; It contains an SPF15 which is great for being at home, but I prefer to use a separate higher SPF when working as I am exposed to so much sunlight. The cream itself is gorgeous, it has a pearlescent shimmer to it, making my skin look fresh and radiant and alleviates redness. My only issue with it is that it has an effect on my make up, especially when I’m working such long days. Bearing in mind that my days are 15 hours long from leaving the house to getting back home or too a hotel, I need my matte foundation to stay matte and not look oily. Saying that, it’s a personal issue rather than it being to do with the cream.
Finally, the Stemcell Super Food Facial Oil has been one of those products that I have taken the time to really like. The first time I used it I found it to be quite drying for an oil, and left my skin feeling tacky rather than having the residue of the oil. I then started using it mixed in with the day cream for a more intense, over night fix. I found that the facial oil really needs to be warmed up in the hands to stop the tackiness on the skin, so rather than putting drops on my fingertips and pressing into the skin, I’ve been putting it in the palm of my hand and warming up before pressing the oil onto my face. Since I’ve changed how I apply the oil, I’ve been finding that I have been reaching for the Rodial over some of my other well liked oils. I find that the Rodial oil is better for protecting my skin against environmental issues such as the dirty aircraft environment that I work in.
Between Rodial and their sister brand Nip + Fab, I am finding some absolutely brilliant products that I have become to depend on. If you haven’t yet tried any of ranges yet, then you really must.
