As a magpie for all things shiny, I seem to have garnered a highlighter collection that is verging on the ridiculous. I’ve always said it but one day, the Tin Man look will be in fashion. I can sense it. Highlighter has only become insanely popular recently, and as I’ve been a make up aficionado for decades, I can honestly say that I never been so invested in my entire life. Powder, cream, liquid – it doesn’t matter as long as the high points of my face look intensely bright and lit. A first for me, but definitely not the last, the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops have not only been introduced into my life as well as my Mums. Treating ourselves one Sunday afternoon, I bought the Cover FX Rose Gold Custom Enhancer Drops whilst Mum got the Blossom shade. Rose Gold metallic shiny cheeks? Hell yes.
The beauty of the Custom Enhancer Drops is that they can be mixed in with foundation, moisturiser or placed directly on the skin over make up for a more intense glow. The Rose Gold drops have even replaced my old favourite NARS Illuminator in Orgasm, and I’ve been adding a drop to my body moisturiser to make my skin look really healthy and glowy. The shade range is quite good with four illuminators, two bronzers and now the three new shades; Rose Gold, Blossom and Halo. Rose Gold is a medium warm, metallic bronze with subtle shimmer. What I love about the Custom Enhancer Drops is that they can even be used over the to of powder products without going cakey or making those weird bobbles that can sometimes lie on the top of existing product. They do dry quite quickly, and I like to blend my drops with a damp Beauty Blender for a subtle sheen.
They’re also incredibly hard wearing and hold in placed. Now I’ve started off with Rose Gold, I really want to add some more to my collection. Namely Halo to wear with my new Becca Prismatic Amethyst highlighter and Celestial as it’s one of the most stunning shades I’ve ever seen in my life. In terms of the swatch, I’ve made it as dense as it will go to show the full effect and luminosity. You can see just how intense it is especially the area where it hits the light full on. Rose Gold is incredibly pigmented and can sometimes be a bit too full on for day to day wear, but if added to foundation it lessens the effect. I also have used it in place of eyeshadow for a metallic eye look, which looks so good. As only a small amount is needed, the contents are going to go such a long way, which also takes away from the £34 price tag. It’s value for money, I think!
A molten, glowing pot of highlighter lava. It’s a must have. Exclusive to Space NK.
