Illamasqua Brows

I’ve previously touched upon the wonders of Illamasqua eyebrow cake in Thunder to help achieve a perfect brow. I frequently get asked what products I use to achieve this look, so I though I would look upon the four wonder products from Illamasqua that I use daily to create my brows.

Illamasqua are fast becoming my favourite brand for cosmetics. Focussing solely on cosmetics, and putting all their passion into delivering wonderous colours, heavily pigmented products and new and intuitive ideas, Illamasqua are certainly my go-to brand for something spectacular. Hydra Veil, I’m looking at you!

The following four products are all that you need for fuss-free, high definition perfectly arched brows.
First up, one of the best brushes I’ve ever used. The Illamasqua angled definition brush does the work for you. I use the brush to create sharp defined lines at the base of my brow and to fill in the colour within my brow. The angle of the brush means that all you need to do is follow the shape of your brow to give you a defined arch. The synthetic bristles help pick up a generous amount of product and the bristles are stiff enough for even the most precise work.

Using the Illamasqua eyebrow cake in Thunder has been part of my daily routine for the last six months. The picture of the eyebrow cake was taken 2 days before the blog post was posted. As you can see from the picture, I have hardly made a dent in the cake. The amount of product needed is minimal and a little goes a long way.

Illamasqua Sealing Gel is the newest addition to my kit. This gel makes any powder shadow into a liquid. Its not only great for your eyebrows but for making any loose shadow into a liquid liner. Perfect for pigments! Rather than adding the sealing gel to the eyebrow cake itself, I actually apply it to the brush then pick up the powder onto the brush. You don’t have to do it like this but the gel will make the cake go a bit hard and crusty if directly applied. The sealing gel also makes the powder water resistant and it lasts for hours.

Finally, to make sure your newly defined brows are standing out, I like to use a highlighter under my brow on the brow bone. Illamasqua Gleam in Aurora is a beautiful champagne shade that looks very natural. I like to apply this with a precision brush to just sit underneath my brow so that when the light hits, it looks like my brow is a very sharp line. The light reflecting pigments within the highlighter means that it looks amazing where ever applied. Pop some on your cheekbones and down the centre of your nose for a dewy, natural look.

I really enjoy doing my eyebrows with powder and brush, I think its so much softer than a pencil, I never though about using a mixing medium, but I love the idea!
