You’ll need to consider your unique needs, planned activities, and the expected weather conditions when packing your bag. Considering each of these factors will enable you to identify which items are essentials for your trip.

Below, we’ve got some helpful tips for packing your bags for a hit and summer vacation to a stunning holiday destination.

Sunscreen

Summer holidays often mean spending several hours in the sun. To protect your skin from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays (UVA and UVB), you will need to pack some sunscreen in your beach bag. Ideally, choose a product with a high sun protection factor (SPF), such as one with an SPF of above 30.

Sunscreen is essential for reducing the risk of sunburn, skin damage, and skin cancer. It forms a protective layer on the surface of your skin to either absorb UV radiation or reflect it, protecting the DNA inside your skin cells from potentially irreversible damage.

Choose a waterproof sunscreen to ensure you’re still protected if you go for a swim in the sea or sweat excessively in the hot sun. Keep it somewhere that is easily accessible inside your beach bag to reapply every two to three hours during the day.

Perfume

Beach perfume is an essential addition to your beach bag for long days of relaxation in the sun. When the weather is hot, you’re likely to sweat more than usual. Perfume is the perfect way to stay smelling great and feeling refreshed all day, regardless of your planned on-the-beach activities.

Find perfume in a scent you love that reminds you of summer and makes you feel great. If you’ve only got a small beach bag, consider purchasing a travel-sized bottle to save space. Consider buying a perfume that is waterproof so you can enjoy a swim in the sea whilst still smelling great.

Large Beach Towel

Whether you need a towel to lie down on a sandy beach all day or dry yourself after a quick dip in the sea, this is another essential item for your beach bag. Your towel provides extra comfort and convenience for long days out in the sun, enabling you to feel as relaxed as possible during your time away from home.

Reusable Water Bottle

Drinking enough water is essential when you’re in the hot sun all day. Whether you’re relaxing on a beach towel all day, swimming in the sea, or participating in water sports, you will need to refresh with clean water regularly.
Keeping a reusable water bottle inside your beach bag enables you to top up your water bottle throughout the day and take regular sips to keep yourself hydrated.
