Monsoon Party Wear: 20s Girl

Monsoon and Accessorize are two of my go-to shops where I know I will find that show stopping outfit and accessories whether it be for a ball, wedding or special occasion. This years party wear has been catching my eye lately so I’ve put together three of my favourite looks which would be ideal for Christmas and New Year.

The 20s Girl look has been inspired by The Great Gatsby and the love for glamour. The modern take on this old school look still oozes glamour yet I’ve replaced a traditional flapper dress for pink chiffon. Although still reminiscent of the flapper dress, it is classic in style and won’t date with changing fashion trends. Thinking beautifully cut lines with elaborate embellishments, the dress speaks for itself however in ode to the jazz era, the finishing touches truly make this outfit.

As it was the roaring Twenties, don’t be afraid to go over the top with jewellery and accessories. The classic t-bar shoe has been updated but still looks in keeping with the rest of the outfit whilst the faux fur stole is a perfect accompaniment to any outfit. A headpiece is the perfect stand out accessory, however a beautiful headband make from crystals or pearls will add to the overall look. Jewellery can be as over the top as you prefer, however I have chosen a pair of classic crystal drop earrings and matching ring. If you want to add more to the outfit, lashings of pearl beads will finish off your Gatsby look.

Wear your hair loose and flowing, or take it to the next level with pin curls. Dramatic make up is a must for this classic era, so a dark smoky eye and berry lip will be perfect!
