Spring Cleaning Your Home
It’s Spring Cleaning time again and for some people it is the best time of year, and for others, they would rather avoid it completely. I like to do my own cleaning, I will blast the house on a Friday if I know I am going out that weekend and won’t feel up to it on Sunday. Or I will focus on one room at a time as I find that helps me best, but it is different for everyone. Whenever you’re overwhelmed with cleaning or just really do not like it, here is the one question that is always asked:

Where Do You Start?
This is different for everyone again, it will completely depend on what type of house you live in. If you are all on one floor, you may want to start at the back and work your way forward. So that you’re not dragging any rubbish or dirt backwards and forwards. This would work well in a flat or apartment. Always start the rooms top to bottom, so you will want to dust the high up areas first and ideally do it so you collect the dust rather that displace it to everywhere else. If you are in a house of 2 or more floors then definitely start at the top, and don’t leave the room until it’s finished. You can do ‘half an hour’ blasts per room like Mrs Hinch does to make it fun. Or just keep going if you are already enjoying yourself. Some people find cleaning therapeutic and fun, which I can totally understand when there’s Zoflora involved!
Make sure you are bringing own the rubbish and things that belong elsewhere as you leave the room and shut the door behind you as a sign that the room is completed.
Where Do You Finish?
You will want to finish off with the floors and the right products for them. Whether you have wooden flooring or thick carpets, pick up the products that are right for that area. For example you could hire an industrial carpet cleaner once a year for your spring cleaning, you’ll be amazed at the difference! You could also buy a smaller carpet cleaner for all year round too. For wood flooring, you will want to properly treat them depending on what type of wood it is. A brush, hoover, and steam mop is usually the method to use but for that, once a year spring clean, you may want to use something different. Perhaps even doing it by hand with a slightly raised brush to get out anything from the grooves. Sure this will take up quite a lot of time, but it’s not something that needs doing every single weekend. This is a once a year, special treatment to make sure your house is as clean as it possibly can be.
