At this point in my life I think I have more highlighters than I know what to do with. From rare collectables, beautifully embossed powders and my day to day loves, I just love highlighters. There’s something so pretty about the colour shifting metallic shines that draw me to them like a moth to flame. The newest addition to the collection is the Too Faced Diamond Light highlighter in the shade Diamond Fire; one of the most beautiful products I’ve seen from Too Faced and it’s going to be perfect for the upcoming Pride celebrations.

The only way to describe the Too Faced Diamond Light highlighter is mesmerising. It has a multi faceted, prismatic colour shift, just like a diamond due to the light reflecting pearls. The formulation is a liquid to powder which has been hand poured so no too highlighters look the same. It applies beautifully over both creams and powders to give a seamless blend and a highlight so blinding that you could be mistaken for Edward Cullen in the daylight.
The colour shift goes between a cool blue and a cool violet with an iridescent white pearl. It’s a very flattering colour on the skin without looking too over the top if you just wanted a sheerer highlight. One layer is very subtle with a light sheen, and the more you build up the more intense the highlight with a metallic, high shine finish. The powder is very smooth yet dense to the touch so kickback was minimal giving more control over over the end result.
As the powder is so finely milled, it sits well on the skin and doesn’t enhance skin texture or pores. I’ve also been using it as an inner corner highlight and brow bone highlight to enhance my shadows. Due to the denser formulation, it has a really good wear time and I got a whole day from one application.
It really is a one of a kind highlighter, and the rainbow diamond fire effect is stunning. The radiance and luminosity it gives is gorgeous and you can see the swirls of pink, blue and gold blend into the prettiest finish. I have tried to find another highlighter in my collection that gives a similar effect and so far, I am at a loss to match this unique shade. The closest I could find was Pearl by Becca but even then, they are still very different.
The packaging obviously needs a mention as it’s just so typically Too Faced. Kitsch and playful, it comes in a jewellery box style outer packaging which opens up to reveal the box of the highlighter. The Too Faced Diamond Light is sat nestled inside, and opens to reveal a very substantial sized amount of product shaped like a diamond.
For £30, it’s not the cheapest option you can buy but for the packaging and quality of the formulation, it’s definitely worth the price. I really want the matching Diamond highlighter brush to go with it – it looks to be the perfect density for giving a great and precise coverage for your shine. When Charlotte Tilbury brought out the Bar of Gold highlighter many years ago, I think she missed a trick compared to the Diamond Light. This one is far more substantial with a larger amount of product for the same price.
As Rihanna once said ‘Shine bright like a diamond’ and you can certainly steal the show with this absolute blinder of a product. I can’t wait to get more use out of it this summer and it will be perfect for all my events I have planned.
Have you tried the Too Faced Diamond Light highlighter yet? What do you think?
