Now that I’m back into the swing of a new job, a commute to the office and a whole new social life, I need to get that balance back where I am getting a good nights sleep but being able to wake up feeling refreshed and ready to go. Luckily, Lush have come to my rescue and have given me a selection of products for me to use to unwind and de-stress before bed and refresh and invigorate in the morning. I have really got into Lush a lot more lately and I’m finding more and more products that are working so well for me. There’s also my Lush favourites, and it’s so nice to be able to add to that list.

Lush Bedtime Treats
I’m starting with my number one from Lush; The Comforter. I was influenced to try this many many years ago and the one bubble bar that I always end up getting each time I call in or walk past the store. It’s the most heavenly blackcurrant bubbly number and a bar will get you around 4 baths. Break off a quarter and add to your bathwater to create pink water that makes you feel like you’ve sunk yourself into a big mug of hot vimto. There are bubbles galore and the oils in the bar work to make your skin soft and silky smooth.
If you wanted a more lavender and floral bath, Deep Sleep Bath Bomb is the one for you. The bath bomb is wrapped in a muslin and whilst I’ve opened it to show you what’s inside, you do need to put it in your bath whilst wrapped up. The scent is a lot more headier which brings that inner peace from the essential oils of lavender and neroli. As the bath bomb dissolves it turns the water into a deep purple and the muslin catches all of the floral leaves that are packed inside the bath bomb.
The Sleepy Face Cleansing Balm is a new little treat for me. Essentially a cleansing oil, it melts like butter onto your skin to give a moisturising cleanse without stripping your skin. It’s not the one for remove stubborn makeup but for a second cleanse, it’s absolutely wonderful. It smells delicious and I would recommend not leaving it out in a warm room or in the sun as it will melt. It seems to be lasting really well and although I’ve been using it frequently, it’s still in good shape. A really lovely cleanser and I’m really pleased that I’ve tried it.
I’d heard a lot about Twilight, the sleepy body spray and whilst I’d bought Sleepy for someone else, I’d never tried the goodness myself. Twilight has stormed into my life and made me so ready for bed. The scent is to die for. Dusty tonka, lavender and ylang ylang which is actually really powerful as a fragrance, and I would wear this during the day if I knew I wouldn’t be at risk of wanting to sleep. Spray it on yourself, your bedding, your curtains, anywhere you want and I promise that this will help you stay calm, relax and eventually fall into a deep sleep.
Lush Wake Up Treats
I’ve never tried any of Lush’s shower bombs before so I started with Not Sleepy. It’s an unusual concept having a bath bomb in your shower and I do recommend cutting it in half or even quarters. A citrus blast with a good exfoliate, it doesn’t foam as much as I expected but my goodness does it give you a good awakening. It does leave a silky moisturising veil across your skin which sets you up for the day. It is a little impractical, but it’s good fun and a really zingy shower experience.
I really like the shower gels from Lush and whilst I’m hoping for last years limited edition Very Very Frightening to make an appearance, I have a new one to keep me busy. Happy Hippy is a grapefruit explosion that gives you that invigorating shower experience you need when you are struggling to open your eyes. I get lemon zest and a sweetness that I can’t put my finger on. It lathers up well on a shower puff, and gives a really good squeaky clean finish without drying my skin out.
Angels on Bare Skin has been a lovely experience for me. You need a tiny pinch of the cleanser, and once mixed with warm water it makes a paste that you can apply to your face, or your body if you wish. It’s almond based which is good for exfoliation and also leaves skin fresh and glowing. It did take a while for me to get used this kind of product. I’m so used to using a cream or balm cleanser and a paste feels really different on the skin. I’m so pleased with how my skin looks and feels afterwards.
I love a toning water so Breath of Fresh Air has been very welcomed into my life. It’s been my friend throughout the heatwave and has given my face the much needing cooling down in the hot weather. It’s been my post cleanse toner to uplift and wake up my skin in a morning. Refreshing aloe vera and sea water, I feel transported to shore. Skin feels balanced and boosted and it’s a pick me up that we all need. It’s a really welcome change from all the toners that I use that contain acids too.
