Alterna Caviar Anti Ageing Haircare

I really like to change up my shampoo and conditioner frequently in order to stop my hair getting used to products. I do have a few on rotation so it does look like I’ve done nothing but manically washed my hair when it comes to do my monthly empties posts. I’d always seen the Alterna Caviar range in salons and I’m sure I had one of the products that I got whilst in America when I was on a long trip and forgot my usual travel sized ones. I’ve added in the Altera Caviar Anti Ageing range into my current rotation and I’m really enjoying how it’s working on my hair.

I have very simple needs when it comes to my hair; I want a smooth finish because I wear it straight, I want to be able to get a good few days in between washes and I want my hair to smell good. With Alterna Caviar, this luxurious haircare brand has been working so well for me lately.

The packaging is actually really good for in the shower. The product is dispensed from a twist top tube; helpful when it comes to securing the lid afterwards as you simply twist it back in place. It’s easy to dispense even with wet hands. I’ve been getting sick of some of the luxury brands I have been using with removable lids. Those lids have been thrown across the bathroom with my slippy wet hands! The bottles are 250ml which I find last me a good 3 months when using them in rotation with others, maybe a little bit longer depending on how many days I leave between washes.

The Alterna Caviar Anti Ageing Anti-Frizz range promises to tame medium to thick hair, with many reviews online saying how it’s helped with very coarse hair. My hair is fine but a lot of it, where the thickness occurs away from the root. I’ve found that more recently, especially with it being short that it’s getting better and a little bit thicker. I always go for a haircare range that either helps with colour or helps to smooth. The smoothing process of the shampoo need to ensure that my hair isn’t so soft and silky that I get flyway’s and helps with humidity, especially during the summer months.

What I have found after using the shampoo and conditioner is that my hair feels clean and moisturised but doesn’t feel like it has a build up of product or that feel of a residue. Whether I leave my hair to dry naturally or blow dry it, there is a definite difference in how my hair looks. My hair does have a natural kink in it and when I leave it to dry naturally it does look a bit Monica in Barbados, but Alterna Caviar has helped give it more definition and structure.

I’ve also added into my routine the Alterna Caviar Blow Out Butter to tame my hair even further before blow drying. I have really seen the benefits of using a styling cream and this cream to oil formulation is divine. It almost melts in your hand to give control over placement in your hair so when you blow dry you it will seal in moisture and protect from heat, whilst giving a lovely shine and smoothness. I don’t use my straighteners very often but I find that they run over my hair much more smoothly after using the hair butter. You really only do need a small amount to make a big difference.

I’m so pleased I’ve been able to try out the range as I’ve really enjoyed it and my hair has never looked better!
