What a waste this last 18 months have been for lipsticks. I’ve barely worn them, I’ve not wanted to wear anything other than lip balm and when I’ve been out, I’ve rocked a nude lip. However, I’ve also still frequently purchasing lipsticks throughout. What am I like! Now things are changing again, the lipsticks are making an appearance and I have promised myself that colours are coming back from me. I used to be that bright pink lipped girl and I want to see her again. So with that in mind, I couldn’t think of anything better than wearing some beautiful brights from L’Occitane from their latest launch; the L’Occitane Pressed Fruity Liquid Lipsticks.

L’Occitane are a brand that feature quite heavily in my life with their luxurious bathing products and sublime skincare. It’s only recently that they have started venturing into the makeup world. If you look across their site, there isn’t a specific makeup section and as far as I am aware they do offer a small selection of lip products including the tinted lip balms which I love as well as the gorgeous fruity lipsticks which I couldn’t get enough of. It’s really nice to see a new product hit their range especially when it’s everything you expect from L’Occitane; a luxurious formulation, fruity shades and free from any nasties as well as being vegetarian friendly.
The L’Occitane Pressed Fruity liquid lipsticks are available in four shades; Pomelove, Pomelip, Spring Sunrise and Carosse, of which I have the latter two, each shade has the same great formulation and can be worn as sheer or as full on as you need. They apply beautifully due to the enriched Vitamin E formulation and hold tight for several hours. I can get around 5 or 6 hours wear before needing to top up and they don’t flake or crack on the lips. They dry to a satin finish and they feel very comfortable during the day with no intense pulling or drying. They are such a lovely liquid lipstick and it’s been nice to wear something a bit more substantial after so many months of just lip balm.
Pomelove – A deep and intense, cherry red liquid lipstick that will make a dramatic impression.
Pomelip – A fresh pink liquid lipstick that is perfect for spring.
Spring Sunrise – An uplifting, luminous pink with red undertones that celebrates the beauty of the Provencal sunrise in spring.
Carosse – A vibrant coral shade that will make you feel radiant, just like the sun in Provence!
The doe foot applicator is a little smaller than usual which actually works out well in terms of applying the product. It is a very forgiving formula so you can build up the coverage. Define your sharp lip line and fill in with a sheerer coverage, more like a stain and then build up for a pigmented pout. It’s a great way to be able to wear a more muted look rather than something so intense. If you wanted to do your first layer and blot with a pressed powder to set before your second layer, the longevity increases and makes it more budge proof – ideal if you still want to wear your mask at the moment.
I also have to drawn attention to the lovely scent; fruity and fresh without smelling synthetic. It’s lovely.
The lipsticks are just £20 per shade which puts them in the mid range and comparable in price to those say from Anastasia and KVD however I am going to be controversial and say that the quality is far superior than the liquid lipsticks from ABH. I’m really impressed with the lipsticks and I do hope that this is the start of a bigger makeup line. If L’Occitane can break into this market, I would be a huge fan.
Have you tried the new L’Occitane Pressed Fruity Liquid Lipsticks yet?
