Victoria’s Secret is a huge brand in America, and although I have spent more time in America over the last few years than I have in the UK, I have never bought anything from VS. So, to break my VS virginity, I headed straight for the beauty department and went a little bit crazy buying lipsticks, glosses and various other bits to see if VS could be a brand that I could introduce into my collection. I have read online several beauty blogs from the USA claiming how amazing the VS Color Drama Lipsticks are, and decided to buy two pinks in Risk Taker and Excessive.
VS Color Drama Lipsticks claim to be maximum in colour impact and highly pigmented. The rich, creamy formula is like that of the MAC Cremesheen lipsticks, with a full coverage and a slight sheen. VS Color Drama Lipsticks exclusive Moisture Rush Complex gives a light cushiony feel for comfort and a long lasting finish. The colour was easy to apply with no dragging or drying. I got around 5 hours of wear from each lipstick and they also stained my lips whilst wearing off so a colour was present for many hours. Although there is only a shade or two difference between the colours, they both look different on in different lights. I find that Excessive is a lighter, blue toned pink whereas Risk Taker is a full on fuchsia. They really do live up to their claims to be amazing lipsticks. In the VS Color Drama Lipsticks collection, there are 15 shades ranging from nudes to dark reds. I obviously went for the pinks, as I am a tad obsessed however I will be looking to pick up Shiver and Light It Up, two purple hued colours.
For $14 each, they are great value for money, and whilst in the States, VS usually do special offers of 30% off. There isn’t a full UK website however stores having been popping up around the UK, so if you do live nearby one then it may be worth having a look. I believe that Victoria’s Secret does ship internationally however customs charges can make the cost a bit more expensive.
