It’s not like me to go all the way to the USA and not spend any money, so I thought that I would do a little haul post. I don’t usually do haul posts, as I tend to showcase my purchases as I buy them on Instagram and then get stuck into reviewing them as and when I can. Now, I’m not going to do a disclaimer giving the ‘I’m not bragging’ spiel, but instead I’m going to give the disclaimer that I am sorry for enabling you as I can guarantee that you’ll want some of these products! Enjoy!
I had my Pinterest USA Wishlist set up prior to my trip to Orlando, and the majority of items on there were things that needed replacing or items that were new and weren’t out when I made my last trip back in October. I must admit that I was seriously disappointed in both Sephora and Macy’s as so much stuff was out of stock, however I’ll let them off as Orlando was crazy busy with it being Easter and half term. There were kids running round Sephora. Eww. Who lets kids loose in a make up sanctuary?! The main items that I wanted were the Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour palette and the liquid lipsticks, but due to popular demand they have gone onto a waitlist. They will be mine.
Whilst in Macy’s, which has the full stand of ABH products, albeit a half empty stand, I managed to get the concealer from my wishlist. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Concealer comes in 16 different shades, suitable for all skin tones. I struggled slightly to get a good colour match as the colour ranges were the different shades as well as undertones. I was undecided between shades 2.5 and shade 3. Shade 2.5 is suitable for light/medium skin tones with peach undertones, and shade 3 is suitable for medium skin tones with neutral beige undertones. I ended up going for shade 2.5 which works really well on my skin but I still wish I had bought shade 3 as well. I’m such a hoarder. The concealers retail for $20 but are on Cult Beauty for £20 each.
I really, really wanted the ABH Liquid Lipsticks in Carina and Party Pink but the entire range was out of stock except for Bambi, which is a really chalky looking lilac. Not for me. Instead I went for some Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Glosses. I didn’t even realise that these were out on sale, but research has shown that they are a Macy’s exclusive and not for sale anywhere else. I picked two colours; Hibiscus and Weekend Barbie. Hibiscus is a creamy orange coral, and Weekend Barbie is a shimmery fuchsia pink. From what I have tried, the coverage and formula is fab and I will be grabbing a few more of these next time I’m in the States.
I also grabbed two of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz pencils in Medium Brown, one for myself and one for my Mum. I got these in Sephora as there was none in Macy’s. I also don’t think that these are any cheaper to buy from the states now since the Dollar rate has dropped so much, so Cult Beauty is the website you need. They’re $21 or £15.50, so it’s a no brainer.
I was getting quite annoyed in Sephora. Everything I had my heart set on was sold out and all the stands weren’t looking their best so I was getting irritated. I did manage to get my Too Faced Cocoa Contour though. The Cocoa Contour hasn’t been released in the UK yet I can imagine it’s going to fly of the shelves when it eventually does. Its gorgeous, and it smells like chocolate. I also picked up the Carrie and Big Soul Mates Bronzer/Blusher although I did want Ross and Rachel, but it was out of stock. I think I prefer Carrie and Big with the coral blush. The Carrie and Big bronzer is the light/medium and the Ross and Rachel is medium/dark so I’ve made the right choice really. My final Too Faced item was one of the newer Melted lipstick colours in Candy. Again, I was having a debate between this and Jelly Donut but I think Candy is a perfect colour for me. I would eventually like them all, as the coverage and formula is great.
I grabbed these Tony Moly lips lip balms as they are so cute and quirky. I have the pink lips with the blueberry lip balm and I got my Mum the red lips with the honey lip balm. Total gimmick but they look fab. I also repurchased the Origins GinZing for the 5th time. I can’t get enough of this moisturiser for daytime. A quick trip to CVS also saw the purchase of a new Essie nail polish in Perennial Chic, and a Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom in Coral Burst. This is a new range of 10 shades which I believe when it comes to the UK will be called Rebel Bouquet. It’ll be in a limited purple casing and I want Power Peony and Peach Poppy.
There was a huge promo going on in the Florida Mall for the new MAC is Beauty collection. I grabbed two of the limited edition lipsticks in Make in Gorgeous and Diva-ish. I also wanted Reel Sexy but I’ll have to wait until the UK launch now. A full review with swatches will be on its way soon. I also had it in my head that I take too many eye shadows on long haul trips with me and that my 15 pan eye shadow palette should be replaced with a quad. I’m not sure who I was trying to kid, it’s never going to happen. As I’m also trying to complete my 4th 15 pan eye shadow palette, I chose Club, Patina and Satin Taupe to take up some empty spaces.
I didn’t intend to get so much stuff whilst I was there, but hey ho. I’m really looking forward to doing my review on the Too Faced Cocoa Contour though. If there is anything else that you would like to see a more in depth review on, please do let me know in the comments below.
