Too Faced La Belle Carousel

Have you ever walked into a beauty hall with the intention of buying nothing and walking out with a product that your heart actually bursts with love for? Of course you have, as I do it all the time and I am pretty fickle with my love for certain things. However, this amazingly beautiful set by Too Faced stopped me in my tracks and I couldn’t physically leave Sephora without it. Even my Mum was in awe at its beauty when I showed it to her. Released just in time for Christmas, but no plans to release in the UK, the Too Faced La Belle Carousel is my love of the week with its Christmas inspired eyeshadow names, Better Than Sex Mascara and the most flattering face products. This post will be quite picture heavy just so you can see just how beautiful the La Belle Carousel is.

The Too Faced La Belle Carousel is the girliest, most festive set I’ve seen in such a long time. The cardboard outer is designed to look like the carousel with the palettes on view through the clear plastic outer. Each individual palette has a design, whether it be a carousel horse or ‘La Belle Carousel’ printed on it. When the palettes are removed from the cardboard outer, they are seated snuggly into a pink glittered lid and base for ease of use and access. I love how each palette can be removed so can be given as stocking fillers or party favours if you wanted too. The palettes with the Carousel horse design contain the eye shadows, whilst the two ‘La Belle Carousel’ design palettes contain a blush and bronzer. Finally, the last palette contains a deluxe sample of the famous Better Than Sex Mascara.

The first of the Blush/Bronzer palettes holds two very shimmery colours that transfer beautifully onto the skin. The blush Luminous Peach is probably my favourite colour to team with a dark smoky eye and nude lip over the festive season and a touch of Sun Bunny Dark over my décolletage to add a hint of sparkle.

The second Blush/Bronzer palette has the beautiful Who’s Your Poppy, which is very similar to Nars Orgasm with its lovely rose gold colour and my Mums favourite bronzer, Chocolate Soleil. It really does smell like chocolate too.

The 12 eye shadows are split over three palettes, with four shades in each. They are all beautiful and I can’t wait to start playing with these shades properly. From the usage that I have had so far, they are all very soft and heavily pigmented. I love the festive names of each shades, except Nude Beach which isn’t very Christmassy unless I’m missing the joke? The colours are mainly glittery or shimmery, give or take one or two. I’ve swatched the shadows without primer for the purpose of the blog photos but I have found that a primer helps hold that shimmer in every day wear.

For $49, which is roughly £30 I think that the Too Faced La Belle Carousel is more than worth the money. The Sephora website claims that the total value of the contents is more than $280 which is absolutely amazing. I’m so pleased that I came home with this, I am absolutely over the moon with it and it is making me feel a teeny bit Christmassy already. I am also hoping that the Everything Nice palette hits the UK too as it is another amazing gift set and has currently sold out on Sephora. Boo.
