Today is a wonderful day. The 22nd September marks the official start of Autumn, my favourite season of the year. It’;s time to start wrapping up warm, whilst the leaves slowly turn orange before falling from the trees. Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back and my Autumn wardrobe has started to make an appearance. With Autumn comes a change in make up. Colours are richer, warmer and the popular shades make a come back. Think deep berry shades, hues of cranberry and mulberry with splashes of gold, whilst rosy cheeks are embraced by warm damson colours. Oh, I’m getting excited just thinking of it. With those shades in mind, I’m really pleased to show you my new Autumnal palette from Stila. A multi use palette that I have been holding off from using until it’s Autumn, which it now is. The Stila Perfect Me, Perfect Hue Palette in Medium/Tan will definitely be seeing me through this season.
After being invited to a press day with Stila, at Harvey Nichols in Manchester, I realised just how much I loved the brand and it really struck home that I don’t use it as much as I should. One of my first ever high end make up buys was the Stila Lip Glaze and I’m scared to admit that it was around 14 years ago when this came into my possession. Trying the new Stila Perfect Me, Perfect Hue Palette has really affirmed my love for the brand, thanks to its highly pigmented shades and great colours.
The compact palette features a gold case with a sheer leopard print topped lid and opens up to reveal four eyeshadows, a highlighter, and two blushes. As the palette is available in four shades, from Fair/Light right up to Tan/Deep, it’s a great way to experiment with beautiful colours designed to compliment your skin tone. I have found that the shades work perfectly on my skin tone using the Medium/Tan as they come out as true to the colour in the compact. The powders feels creamy on the skin, and work in easily without looking chalky or ashy, with the eye shadows being really blendable. A day time eye can be changed to a evening look with a pop of gold glitter and a deeper, more seductive plum colour ran under the lower lashline for a sultry look. The palette contains Curious – soft nude, Captivating – neutral champagne, Daring – deep rose with gold pearl, Feisty – mid-tone red brown, Magnetic – deep plum with blushers in Inspiring – coral brown and Mysterious – neutral peach.
I’ve paired my Stila Perfect Me, Perfect Hue Palette with the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Dolce. One of the most comfortable liquid lipsticks I’ve ever had the pleasure of wearing, it applies and dries beautifully. As a liquid lipstick connoisseur, I was a bit dubious about the Stila Liquid Lipsticks, as I don’t tend to see many people talk about them compared to brands such as Anastasia Beverly Hills and Kat Von D. I was really impressed with the glossy formula that dried down into a really comfortable wear, that was of a semi matte finish. Dolce lasted around 7 hours on my lips and I needed to use an oil based remover to ensure it taken off completely. It didn’t dry my lips out and I forget that I was wearing a matte lipstick as it was so creamy on the lips. I’m going to invest in a few more shades as I was that impressed.
Have you tried anything from Stila? What are your thoughts on this gorgeous new palette? Do you need it? I think you do!
