Selfridges The Beauty Project 1st May – 12th June

From the 1st May 2014, Selfridges stores across the nation will be taking part in The Beauty Project. This thought provoking journey will demonstrate what beauty is, and how it is perceived in this modern day society. The Beauty Project will be centered around six themes; Men and Beauty, Age and Beauty, Adornment/Extreme Beauty, Global Beauty, Androgyny and Natural Beauty. The project and these themes will be displayed in product selection, services in stores as well as talks, workshops and activities throughout the six weeks.

German photographer and filmmaker Norbert Shoerner has created a beautiful campaign using members of the public next to the line ‘Hello Beautiful’. The images are un-retouched and show the natural beauty of the faces selected. One of the real life models is Richard Smith, a 29 year old body piercer from Manchester. The images are stunning beautiful and show beauty in its purest form, by being yourself. The full set of images can be found here. Selfridges Exchange Square will be celebrating The Beauty Project throughout May and June with a variety of events involving some of the biggest beauty brands in the world. This week sees the launch event being held on Wednesday 7th May.

Wednesday 7th May plays host to celebrity make-up artist and beauty guru; Armand Beasley. Armand is a much loved make up artist, who has worked on A-List clients such as Goldie Hawn and Daryl Hannah and some of our favourite faces from television and the small screen. Armand has worked on high profile events such as the Oscars and BAFTAs, and has been featured in several magazines such as Asiana Wedding, Hello and Grazia. With his vast expertise and knowledge of make up, Selfridges customers will be in for a treat. Individual consultations with Armand will be available for £75 which is a redeemable booking fee.

Complimentary with the purchase of two or more Jo Malone London products, watch how their silk-screen techniques personalise the box just for you.
