First of all, when did Marks and Spencer beauty hall become so good and why on earth have I only just found this out on my most recent visit. After visiting the Cardiff store a weekend, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw my favourite brands such as Nuxe, REN and Bliss. It seriously rivals Space NK!
Anyway, I’m digressing. Marks and Spencer is now a new home for Philip Kingsley haircare. This is a brand that i’ve been seeing in so many blogs, magazines and beauty boxes lately. I keep hearing about the wonders of Elasticizer and how incredible the shampoo and conditioner is. The shampoo and conditioner are priced at £10 each however the Elasticizer is a whopping £28 for a 150ml tub.
I settled for the Soft and Shiny trial pack priced at £15 that contains a 60ml Moisture Balancing Shampoo and Conditioner and a 40ml Elasticizer. These are ideal for colour treated hair that is medium and wavy in texture.
I treated my hair with the Elasticizer by sectioning my damp hair and applying with my fingers until the hair was coated. After twisting it up into a hair clip, i sat back in the bath and relaxed for 20 minutes whilst the Elasticizer worked its magic. There isn’t much of a smell to the Elasticizer, and it is to be used before you shampoo and condition.
The shampoo reminds me of something but i can’t quite put my finger on it. Its like sweets or bubblegum from my childhood. Its quite a nice consistency, pearlescent to look at and it works up into an excellent lather once applied. The conditioner glides on well, and feels nourishing. I left the conditioner on for a few minutes before rinsing it out.
My overall impressions of Philip Kingsley shampoo and conditioner were good, however I’m not sure if i prefer it to the L’Oreal products I have been using recently. What I have noticed however is that I have lost a lot less hair after using Elasticizer than what I usually do. My hair still doesn’t feel like it needs washing 3 days on, and it feels stronger and looks more lustrous. I’ll report back one I’ve finished using the full amount of the products. I’m aiming to use Elasticizer at least twice a week, and if this really is the wonder product that is has been made out to be, I’ll be on the Philip Kingsley website ordering the biggest tub they do!This post may contain PR samples that have been sent to me for consideration for review however all my opinions will be my own.
