Well hello there my beauties. I trust you all had a good Christmas? I’ve taken a few days off from the blog over the Christmas period and after almost completing Blogmas (I missed 1 day, grr), I have realised that I need to take some time to refresh myself and let the creative juices start flowing again. After my New Years posts, I’m going to take a hiatus of a week or two. For the last few months, I’ve been blogging at least four times a week up to daily posts, and although I love it, it’s a lot of work for someone who has such a varied and anti-social job like mine. Back to the present, today’s post is all about that essential New Years Eve Party Prep, and what I have been doing ready for the big night out on Thursday.
I don’t know about you, but prepping for an event is taking me longer and longer these days I used to relish in an afternoon of getting ready and pampering for a night out but lately, it has been taking days to get my glam on. I blame the excitement of it all. This week I have been getting all my essentials ready for Thursday night and starting off with my essential false tan. I’m starting to come to the conclusion that I am a tanoholic, and I really don’t mind at all, as I feel so much better with glowing skin. A top brand of mine is Vita Liberata and I have been using this brand for around two years, after being introduced to it at work. Vita Liberata works with your bodies own natural pH, so the colour that develops will always be natural. The Vita Liberata Rich Self Tan Lotion in Medium is just the most amazing colour for my skin when it develops, and it leaves absolutely no odour. Not only that, but it leaves my skin feeling soft and silky and the colour has developed within 4 hours. I like to build it up using fine layers each day, and once I have my glow, it lasts around 7 days. For New Years Eve, I’ll be upping the anti and adding a touch of shimmer to my legs with the Vita Liberata 24ct. It’s a wash off tinted tanning lotion, that leaves skin feeling super soft and with a very subtle shimmer. This Vita Liberata duo is what the stars of Strictly Come Dancing have been using to get their gorgeous colour.
I’ll be curling my hair for New Years Eve so I want it to be in the best condition ready for it to be styled with heat. I’ve made no secret that I’m a massive Lee Stafford fan and across his range, he has some amazing products for styling. Since becoming a brunette, for some reason I am finding that my hair needs a bit more help when using heat on it so I’ve been using Argan Oil infused products for added moisture. A brilliant find has been the Lee Stafford Argan Oil Night Repair Serum which has been such a gem to work with. I put a good 10p sized blob into my hand and work it through the mid lengths and ends of my hair before tying it up into a bun and getting into bed. It leaves no residue on the pillow or my face and when I wake up, I can either wash it and have lovely conditioned hair, or style it and leave it in for a bit longer. Win win if you ask me. For a polished, glossy finish, the Lee Stafford Argan Oil Nourishing Miracle Mist is a light, non greasy oil spray that can be used on wet or dry hair. It works particularly well on curled hair, and removes any dry, frazzled looking hair by making it look shiny and healthy.
I’ve been obsessing over the whiteness of my teeth recently, and I’ve removed the stains on my teeth by using Smile Brilliant Teeth Whitening System. I want to keep them bright and white without having to you a chemical based product on them so whilst hunting in Boots, I spotted the BlanX Extra White Intensive Treatment. It’s gentle enough to be used twice a day and the Arctic Lichen formula isn’t abrasive and is gentle on the enamal whilst keeping teeth brilliant white.
I’ve been so exciting to get this bad boy back out again as the last time I wore it, I had the biggest pout you ever did see. Not ideal for dates or day to day, the Lauren’s Way Pump and Pout Clear Lip Gloss is definitely made for special occasions due to it’s insane magic. Having being used to having quite big lips naturally, surgery would never be an option for myself, but sometimes the need to go bigger is always there. A safe alternative to a surgical procedure, plumping serum is added to gloss for a pout size that you can control. It’s not painful, nor is the final outcome too over the top, but it does have that tingle that is associated with a plumping product and my lips take the plump quite well. The plumping serum must be used with the gloss and not applied directly to the lips. Another great product from the Lauren’s Way brand.
Make sure you are ready for some New Year snogging by keeping this super cute mini Hello Breath Spray in Pink Grapefruit in your handbag. Naturally free from artificial colours and flavours, it doesn’t contain alcohol so would be suitable for all ages. The Pink Grapefruit tastes delicious, and gives instant refreshment. I have several scattered across my handbags as they are so handy.
