So, if you haven’t heard about the NARS lip pencils then where the heck have you been!! I have seen many a beauty blogger share their love for these incredible pencils, and of course I had to join in the hype and love in by purchasing NARS 413BLKR Velvet Matte Lip Pencil. First of all the colour name is 413BLKR, so it doesn’t have a pretty name as such. 413BLKR is named after the flagship store in the West Village of NYC, located at 413 Bleeker Street. The collection is limited in products and although I purchased mine from the NARS website, it is no longer listed on there. I have spotted it in Selfridges since then so if you love it, it may be worth keeping an eye out.
NARS 413BLKR Velvet Matte Lip Pencil is a vibrant red toned fuchsia with iridescent blue sparkles running through it. Although hardly noticeable once applied, it gives the overall effect of the lip pencil a bit of a boost. The colour transfers onto my lips slightly darker and it is a stunning shade. The matte texture of the pencil is drying and it can sometimes drag when applying. I can get many hours from one application, at least 6 which is just brilliant. It does dry out throughout the day so a lip balm would be handy to have. Even though it is a matte texture, it does feel very silky and the consistency is quite luxurious. I was very pleasantly surprised the first time I tried it as the hype was so big. I was sort of dubious that it was just a hype product , however the overall verdict is just fabulous!
