It’s that time of year again – the new Latest in Beauty Glamour Beauty Power List box for 2015 is out. Latest in Beauty have teamed up with Alessandra Steinherr, one of my favourite beauty experts and Glamour Magazines beauty editor, to bring a selection of eight of the most hard working beauty products of this year. All highly covetable, some new to me and some cult favourites, the 2015 box definitely knocks spots off last years Power List 2014. Rather than writing about what is in the box, I’ve spent the last few weeks reviewing each item so I can give you a full run down on each item. With a total box value of £93, for a measly £18.99 plus P&P, it’s not a case of shall I try it, it’s a ‘what are you waiting for?’ moment. Lets delve inside and see what’s made the power list.
The first item that I saw in the box was the Garnier Miracle Sleeping Cream, £12.99. I have seen and read some really good reviews on this little tub of goodness and I’m all for a cream that keeps my skin hydrated and plumps it up whilst I sleep. Over the four weeks that I have been using it, I have been primarily using it post flight to add the moisture back in my skin. Although I can’t see visible differences, I can feel that my skin feels so much more plumped up in a morning. A perfect air hostess essential.
I have a full size tube of the Vita Liberata Self Tanning Night Moisture Mask, £30, so a sample size tube is perfect to keep in my work toiletry bag. I have been periodically using the night mask to build up a natural tan whilst sleeping alongside the Vita Liberata Trystal mineral powder. I’m getting quite into products that work whilst I sleep and the tan that develops over night is so natural that you aren’t scared to look in the mirror when you wake up. There will be a full review and swatches of the Vita Liberata Self Tanning Night Moisture Mask and Trsytal Mineral Powder coming soon.
I’ve managed to try quite a few of the Eyeko products which have been in beauty boxes or on the front of magazines but I haven’t tried the Eyeko Black Magic Mascara in Midnight Blue before. The full size retails at £18 so it is on the pricier side of what I would spend on mascara but I am absolutely loving coloured mascaras right now. I’ve been teaming this with a purple smoky eye and using the mascara on the tips of my already blackened lashes. I don’t particularly love the brush as I find it quite difficult to work with, but I love the colour and the fact that it doesn’t cause major fall out during the day.
Last year whilst in the USA, I clocked the Revlon Ultra HD lipglosses which I believe still haven’t reached the UK, but the Ultra HD lipsticks have. At £7.99, they are a really reasonably priced lipstick and feel weightless on the lips. They feel like a balm rather than a lipstick but have great pigmentation, feel incredibly moisturising and smell like mangoes and vanilla. I’d definitely be interested in adding a few more to my extensive lipstick collection.
A brand new product and brand to me comes from Kiko and the Velvet Touch Creamy Stick is just £7.90. I hear so many beauty bloggers rave about Kiko and after using the blush stick in Hot Pink, I can see why. Velvet to the touch, easy to blend and build up colour, the blush is seamless on the skin. There’s a Kiko store opening up at The Trafford Centre soon and I’m really excited to try out some more from the brand.
The product that stands out the most to me in the Latest In Beauty box is the Nails Inc NailKale, £15. For so long, I have been trying to get my nails back in some sort of order and since I have been using Nail Kale, my nails have changed so much. Even with just one coat, I can feel the strength within my nails and the difference in my nails since before use to now is extraordinary. It has actually changed my life! Hurrah for NailKale!
I’ve been wearing the Rita Ora for Rimmel 60 Second Nail Polish in Glaston Berry, £2.99 over the top of NailKale and wearing it without a top coat. for someone like myself who has to change nail polish several times a week as my nails are so thin and bendy, the nail polish and NailKale have been working together to give me a good four days worth of chip free colour in a gorgeous shade of rosy red. I’m very impressed with the high shine finish without a top coat as well as the super quick drying time.
Finally, a cult favourite of most people that have tried it, the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer, £29 has been given a new scent makeover with the addition of Geranium and Neroli. I love essential oils and geranium and neroli have to be two of my personal favourites. I have been putting the Elasticizer on damp hair and covering with my shower cap whilst I relax on my bed and let the geranium scent drift over me. For my parched and dry colour ends, Elasticizer works wonders on making my hair feel stronger as well as more alive. The limited edition version smells simply divine and I will definitely be buying the full size.
