Bobbi Brown UK

In The Pink

My name is Anoushka and I am a lipstick hoarder. It’s true, I admit it. I have more lipstick than I know what to do with and still can’t help myself but buy more. The colours, the finishes, the packaging…

I. Just. Can’t. Help. Myself.

Luckily, I do have a job where I need to be applying my lippy every 30 minutes, so all that beautifully cased lipstick does has a purpose.

I’ve been talking to some other bloggers lately, and in conversation my favourite shade of lipstick cropped up, so I thought I’d show you my top three favourite colours.

L-R Show Orchid, Gulabi, Something New

Now I know you’re going to say ‘Anoushka, you crazy woman, they all look the same’…. They’re not! Let me show you!

Top Left: Show Orchid
Top Right: Something New
Bottom Centre: Gulabi

Show Orchid, available from MAC PRO contact 0870 0342676

Show Orchid is an amplified finish, meaning full volume and full on colour. It’s a cool toned fuschia pink with a blue sheen and my gosh, it’s the most beautiful lipstick you ever will own. It gives great coverage and is 100% opaque. The best thing is that it lasts for hours, so no need to reapply quite so frequently. Wear with a gloss over the top for a glamorous pout!

Something New, limited edition from the Stylishly Yours Collection

Something New is an amplified finish. I find these to be the best formulation that MAC do. It’s a medium dark pink in the bullet, however when applied its a bright blue pink with a fully opaque creamy finish. When applied it reminds me of the 80s. Sorry those who don’t remember it, I’m showing my age now! I wish the MAC didn’t make so many limited edition lipsticks as ill be devastated when this runs out. Luckily, I have a back up 😉

Gulabi, limited edition from the Mickey Contractor Collection

Gulabi is a bright fuschia pink amplified lipstick, with a creamy opaque finish. Just like the previous two, it is long lasting and feels moisturising on. MAC have just added two lipsticks from the Mickey Contractor range to their permanent range so here’s hoping Gulabi makes a reappearance soon! It looks quite red tinged whilst in the bullet, but once it’s applied it has a warmer tone to it and is definitely more pink than red.
