If you were deserted on an island with only three beauty products, what would yours be? Mine would be a coconut oil, mascara and a multi use brow palette – funnily enough just like this HD Brows Palette in Bombshell. Brows are absolutely vital to me, and I actually can’t leave the house without a little bit of pencil or powder ran through them to give them a bit of definition. Eyebrows are an important factor to your face, they frame your eyes and can totally change the way you look, I must admit that I was a little slow off the mark when younger and didn’t really do much to them. I’ve always had a nice, natural arch but now I love to create a defined, HD brow.
When HD Brows first launched as a brand, I had an appointment with a HD Brow technician to put my brows through the seven step program to get them into a beautifully defined arch. They were tinted, plucked, waxed, threaded and shaped and luckily, I had minimal growth needed to create perfect brows. Since then, I have learnt my own shape and keep them maintained myself. After too many bad experiences at salons, I can’t bear the thought of anyone else touching them unless they have superior credentials. To keep them looking in tip top condition, I have a selection of go to products that I swear by. A huge lover of Anastasia Beverly Hills, Benefit, Billion Dollar Brows and HD Brows products are forever in my grasp, with Tweezerman tweezers to keep them in shape.
The HD Brows Palette in Bombshell is slightly too light for my natural brow colour but with a bit of shade mixing, I can create the desired colour, and the palette also doubles up as a handy eyeshadow palette – great for my long haul trips. I usually use the Foxy palette which is a shade darker, but the colours aren’t too dissimilar when mixed. Within the palette is a peach toned highlighter shade, a light taupe, a deep beige and a carbon black shadow collection with a setting wax. For my brows, I mix the taupe and beige and using the angled brush, I first brush the wax through my brows so the shadow can adhere to it. Mixing of the colours can be done by just tapping the colours onto the brush and building up as it is brushed through the brow. I generally tend to wear powdered brows during the day and save my Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade for when I am on long shifts at work or going out for an evening.
For an eyeshadow blend, the colours are neutral enough for an no make up make up look, with the taupe shade making a beautiful crease colour. The fluffy shadow brush distributes enough shadow on the eye to not cause fall out and the angled brush makes creating eyeliner with the carbon shade so easy. Remember to wipe off any wax from the brow definition first otherwise you’ll have sticky eyes!
I’ve been such a fan of the HD Brow brand for so long, and I can’t see anything changing in the foreseeable future. I’m also venturing into the HD Brows make up range, and have tried the lip glosses and the foundation has caught my eye. HD Brows is available at Beauty Expert with free delivery for £29, and the palettes are available in Bombshell, Foxy and Vamp depending on your brow colour.
