It’s only been recently that I’ve had to rely on the powers of fake tan to keep that golden glow that I’ve been accustomed too. Even though I travel the world and visit exotic places on a regular basis, I like to try and keep a faux glow rather than spending time in the sun and causing damage to my skin and body. I was kindly sent a sample of Cocoa brown 1 Hour Instant Tan* mousse to try out and see if I could achieve that perfect golden glow.
The first thing that I absolutely loved was the packaging. Who can’t love a bright pink padded envelope containing a full sized aerosol of the mousse, a tanning mitt and a personally addressed Cocoa Brown postcard.
Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Instant Tan is a tan that states that it will leave you with a brown tan and not an orange hue, and also doesn’t leave a biscuity scent whilst it is developing. The colour is supposed to develop to a natural tan over just one hour however it can be left on longer for optimum colouring. The mousse itself has a beautiful Tahitian Gardenia scent, which is totally gorgeous however I can’t smell this once it has been applied to my skin.
I used the tanning mitt to apply the mousse to my skin, and I find that the mitt gives a great even tan with no visible streaks. I tried the tan and washed it off after an hour however with the natural tan I had, it was barely noticeable. I tried it again and left it to develop for three hours and the results were a lot deeper. Unfortunately, I have found that the tan does have a biscuity smell and gets stronger the longer it is developing. Here are my before and after pictures to show how the tan has developed. I wore the tan for three hours before washing off.
The colour lasted for a good 4 days before it faded quite a lot, but it did fade evenly and with no visible orange patches. It does look on the pictures that I have dark patches on my knees but it is just the angle that I’ve taken the picture. I’m already looking forward to this evenings bath and pamper and my application of Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Instant Tan!
