When I heard about the new Matte finishes from Barry M for Autumn/Winter, I was dying to get my hands on them. I have a huge love for Barry M and I am obsessed with the nail polishes. The Barry M Matte collection was set for release in Superdrug on the 25th September and making its way to Boots by early October.
I love wearing brights in the Summer, but there is something about warm neutrals in the winter. These sophisticated colours are perfect for the colder seasons and they are suitable for work whilst being glamorous enough for an evening out.
Crush is a delicious deep burgundy wine shade
Caramel is a warm creamy nude
Mocha is a milky latte, melted milk chocolate shade
The colours when applied are slightly darker to that of in the bottle. The matte polish needs to be applied with thick coats, however it does dry reasonably quickly. I found that I had to apply three coats of Mocha and Caramel. Caramel looked liked it had separated when I applied the first coat, however the second coat evened it out and the third fully covered any gaps. Matte nail varnish is usually quite difficult to apply, especially for a novice like myself but I found that even I could do it without too many problems. It does slightly drag when applying, however once it has dried properly the finished looked even with no streaks, smears or bubbles.
I can’t wait to get my hands on Vanilla and Espresso! The new Barry M Matte polishes are priced at £3.99 and, if you spend over £9 on Barry M in Superdrug this week, you can get a free Lash Vegas mascara. This post may contain PR samples that have been sent to me for consideration for review however all my opinions will be my own.
