Bare Minerals Blemish Remedy Foundation

Up until last year, I hadn’t really paid much attention to Bare Minerals until I tried the Bare Minerals Get Started kit. Although it hasn’t won over my full coverage foundation love, it has certainly opened my eyes and changed my perspective on light weight mineral powder, especially when my skin needs a break from the Double Wear. Wearing heavy foundation as often as I do means that I have to pay particular care to my skincare routine, with double cleansing playing a large part in this. Now, don’t get me wrong – I am not opposed to a face wipe and sometimes I simply cannot be bothered in taking my make up off properly and I do end up paying the price when I don’t. Long hours, polluted environments and the odd face wipe night all contribute to getting blemishes so when I need a light make up day, I want something that will mimic a fresh complexion yet cover up any imperfections. The Bare Minerals Blemish Remedy Foundation is just what I need for days like today, where I won’t be ashamed of answering the door to unexpected visitors and I won’t scare any small children if I pop to the shop sans make up.

The Bare Minerals Blemish Remedy Foundation in the shade Clearly Medium* is a great colour match for my skin at the moment. As my tan has faded, it suits the cooler tones in my skin and will be easy to warm up with a touch of bronzer if necessary. The shade range is extensive with 10 different shades from the palest of pale to a deep almond shade. Paired with the Bare Minerals Supreme Finisher Brush, I have been using the classic Swirl, Tap and Buff technique to apply the Blemish Remedy to my face.

I’m quite impressed with the coverage levels and it does give skin a lovely evened out finish, but I don’t think it covers my blemishes to the level I would expect when I wear a heavier foundation. That being said, the levels of coverage and the almost flawless finish is actually quite amazing for a mineral powder foundation. The powder contains Aspen Bark and Tea Tree Oil to help promote healthier skin, whilst the lightness of powder is non-comodegenic and will not clog up pores. Whilst reducing redness and the look of pores, the Blemish Remedy might not be heavy enough to fully cover my blemishes but it creates the illusion of healthier, even skin.

I have been using Bare Minerals Prime Time under my Bare Minerals Blemish Remedy Foundation for just that extra bit of oomph, but I believe that the Bare Minerals Complexion Remedy Hydrating Gel is the perfect partner. I must pick one up soon!
