Ooh I am so excited to show you this amazing palette from the genius that is Anastasia Beverly Hills! The Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit has been a massive talking point in the beauty world for several months now. It only launched recently and was so popular that it sold out in the USA within days, and became one of the most coveted items to add to your kit. I noticed that Cult Beauty have it on pre-order with an expected release date of early July, priced at £45. I had been stalking the Sephora website for weeks, where it was an online order only however it had been out of stock for so long. When the email saying it was back in stock dropped into my inbox, I practically squealed with delight until I worked out that it would cost more in shipping and handling from the States that what it costs for the palette. Luckily, I had little jaunt over to Las Vegas last week, so it was inevitable that the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit would be coming back home with me, as well as one for my gorgeous make up artist friend, Leena.
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit is made up of six pans of colour, five mattes and one shimmer. The pans are attached into the kit by a magnet and can be replaced with single refills from Anastasia Beverly Hills when needed. For your own personal use or beauty kit, I do like the idea that you can always have a new refill when needed. Top marks. The shades are Vanilla (matte), Banana (matte) and Sand (shimmer) with Java (matte), Fawn (matte) and Havana (matte). From my own personal usage, with my medium to medium deep skin tone, that Fawn works best as my contour colour with Banana being perfect for concealing redness and Sand as my highlight.
The powders themselves feel buttery smooth and seem to glide onto my skin. Out of all of them, Banana does feel a tiny bit chalky but not enough for it to be a problem. For concealing redness and setting concealer, I think Banana is the most versatile shade of the bunch. As well as being easy to apply, the longevity is of a good standard and my entire face stayed in place for an entire work day. I’ve been using my MAC 109 Contour Brush to apply and the brush does pick up just the right amount of product. Even though they are so silky smooth in the pan, they transfer easily to the brush and are very buildeable. The contour kit will suit any skin tone, and although the contour shades look quite dark in the pan you can see from the swatches below that any fair skinned lovelies will have no trouble in suiting them.
What do you think of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit? Will you be getting one for your kit?
