28 Days of Lipstick: Day Nine | MAC Violetta

MAC Violetta is part of the amplified range and is a bright warm true purple. Its so vibrant and not for the faint hearted when built up to a shocking flash of colour. Its quite rare to find such a bright purple colour so the first time I saw it, I fell in love. MAC Violetta is part of the permanent collection however it is a Pro Permanent so you can only buy it from Pro stores or order through the mail order number.

MAC Violetta has been re-released in collections over the last few years such as the Venomous Villains, so it does keep popping up in stores. I have a sneaky suspicion that it may rear its head in the upcoming Malifecent collection.

The amplified cream finish of the lipstick means its glides on without drying, and keeps the lips moisturised and somewhat hydrated. A lip brush can apply a light sheer covering if you’re not feeling brave enough for a full on purple pout, however I like to apply it from the bullet for a showstopping effect.

The pictures do not show just how amazing the colour is in real life. It is almost pearlescent in the bullet and once applied, although no glitter or sparkles are within the lipstick, it looks shimmery in certain lights. I like to think that Violetta is the purple version of Show Orchid. Its just wow!
