ghd Birds of Paradise Coral V Styler
I bought my first pair of hair straighteners in around 2001 when I was 18. They were a pair of Babyliss straighteners, with bare metal plates and they literally fried my hair. The first time I used a set of ghds was a life changing experience and my hair couldn’t have been more grateful for the introduction of ceramic plates and a heat defence spray. Since then, I have had the ghd mark 3 styler, the ghd Rare mark IV styler and now I have upgraded to the beautiful ghd Birds of Paradise Coral V Styler*.
First of all, I will mention the importance of a good heat defence spray. I have been using the ghd Heat Protect Spray* for several years and although it is a bit more pricier than others, I personally find that it is the one best suited to my hair. I literally need about three sprays on my hair, and I usually do this by sectioning my hair and spritzing on each section. I use the heat protect spray on damp hair as well as dry hair before straightening.
My hair is naturally straight with a slight wave near my jaw line. I’m lucky in that I don’t need to straighten it often but when I do straighten it, it leaves my hair soft and sleek for days afterwards. I try not to straighten my hair too often as to keep it in good condition. I find that with the advanced ceramic heat technology from the stylers it takes away the need to straighten too often as my hair holds the shape and keeps the glossy shine until the next hair wash.
The ghd Birds of Paradise Coral V Styler is part of the Birds of Paradise collection that also includes the gorgeous Lagoon and Sunset coloured stylers. With the Coral styler, £10 will be donated to Breakthrough Breast Cancer for each one sold. There isn’t much difference with the V styler from the IV styler, apart from the on/off button and the edge of the plates seem slightly more rounded. They still have the 30 minute sleep mode which saves any undue stress that you may have left your straighteners in when you have left the house. I also love how they work anywhere in the world with the universal voltage. No frizzy hair for me whilst in the Caribbean!
I’m in love with the beautiful colours of my ghd Birds of Paradise Coral V Styler. The orange and pink hues are so vibrant and the matching heat resistant mat looks so glam on my dressing table. I’m busy preparing some tutorials for you on how to master the gorgeous style that is the ghd curl ready for the festive season and I can’t wait to show you!
The ghd Birds of Paradise Coral V Styler is £129 and is available from all good ghd retailers.

These are sooo pretty! I stepped on my straighteners a few years ago and broke them haha! I use Ko;Kou now, they’re not AS good but they’ve still got ceramic plates and heat to 220 so can’t complain 🙂

Ah you lucky thing! I invested in these as my straighteners were pretty disgusting, hahaha won’t even go there- I haven’t used mine yet but mainly because they are so pretty and my red hair dye goes everywhere, I wanted to get the blue/purple ones too but was swayed by the charity donation xxxx
